I just bought a 2018 Platinum, no issues. I hope not but then I'll be tinting the windows shortly so that should help.

Did any of you use windex on their windows while cleaning? Just trying to figure out if this was the case, windex being absorbed into the 'leather' and causing it to decompose back on my camry eons ago.

Nope the only things I've used is Rain-X 5071268 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner and Rain Repellant

You know that rain x and glass cleaners like invisible glass have hydro carbons and silicone in them. That stuff is not good on leather. Could have been from that rain x. Slowly breaking down the top layer coating off the treated leather.

Damn... RIP I needa be careful then, I typically spray the microfiber before I wipe but I could assume some of it got on the leather ‍ thanks for pointing that out!

I use both of those type of glass cleaners. I spray on to a towel outside the car, then go in and wipe the windows. To avoid getting it on the interior.

The rain x bottle in the picture even says flammable on the bottle.

I use leatherique for all the leather and upholstery vinyl. Took me 20 years to find out about leatherique. I buy it from leatherique themselves. $200 = 1 gallon of the rejuvinator and 1 gallon of prestine clean. Yeah it's called prestine, not pristine.

Lasts me for years. Doesn't go bad

You think it would fix the leather that's already deteriorating?

It would help it. By getting all the other contaminants off.

I was thinking if it was still not deteriorating. And you got cleaner on it, leatherique would get it off if you do it as you see it happen.

Leatherique being oily and slick gathers up all the dirt and grime and suspends it off the leather. Versus scrubbing first.

Then you use the prestine clean to wipe off all the tacky stuff that has dirt in it.

If your leather is really bad tell toyota. They know some years have issues

Mine is sticky and tacky. I replaced my dash pieces with SR5 panels just to help. Ordered some goo gone to try and see if that will remove stickiness.

eBay specials. I am at a point tracking down SR5 panels down just to get rid of the crap platinum door panels. No local places here have any wrecked trucks. So been trying to find some panels on EBay, but nobody seems to have all 4. I can strip mine down for handles and other trim on doors. Mine is so bad can’t drive truck because panels are so sticky.

My 18 Platinum is doing this to the driver door card too. Shame.

Mine started on drivers door and then over a year made it to everyone. Wish I would have just traded it in back then.

I used baby wipes from Costco and they seem to remove the stickiness from the leather. It made the leather feel way less tacky when hot. I need to wait until it gets a little hotter again in socal to verify that the baby wipes worked! will keep yall updated if you guys are interested!
