no issues with mine, still love it after 6 months, did the Dirty Deed exhaust and the wheel about the same time and these two mods bring enjoyment every time I get in the truck, other things I have started to take for granted, tinted windows, dechrome, steering wheel control fix, steps,... but these two still bring smiles.

You made sure to move the one unit over from your old wheel to the new one, right?

I did not do the instal myself, but I just checked the box and there is nothing in there but the silver trim and old wheel. So the guts have been transferred it seems.

Given that it came with no instructions, it would be easy to miss. I almost did

I do not see any clock spring in my parts box, just the wheel. So I texted the guy to check, will update once he responds.

update: It was installed. I'll see if a quick reprogram or whatnot works Tuesday. To be honest it's probably me. I even broke (not physically) my debit card and they had to re-issue it 3 times until it would work in a machine when I tried just last week. Something about me breaks technology, yes that sounds dumb, but it is something that continually happens to me. I can leave a room and things will work again sometimes.

Got the truck back, guess the first guy never pushed that sensor in far enough, at least that is what the shop reported. They took it easy on me and didn't even charge me a full hour
Thanks for everyones input. @RainMan_PNW you were right, sorta. It WAS there, just not all the way!

Anyone know if the clock spring thing supplied is required or can you use the factory Toyota one?

You have to use the supplied one. The factory one doesn’t have the added wires to power the heater in the new wheel.

It’s required if you want a heated steering wheel.

I've been looking at aftermarket steering wheels as the finish is starting to rub off where I put my hands.

Damn. Bought one used like new secondhand but the supplied one is open, think it may be broken.

The clock spring piece was open but I was able to click it back in place. Not sure if it’s still safe to use..

Ended up resetting the clockspring and it seems to be working fine. I do notice a little rubbing sound when turning the wheel sometimes, might take it back apart and double check everything. What did everyone use to tap for power? PWR OUTLET 15A seemed to work for me.

the wheel rubbing happens to me a little, seems to have calmed down. It didn't the first time I got it back so I am guessing it can be adjusted enough to avoid that.

Hard to explain the sound or pin point where it could be. But my last wheel didn’t do it.
