What trip were you trying to route?

Thank you for responding - after further investigation the navigation is working correctly in that the user can input an address and the software properly routes to the desired destination - the software issue is the list of “recents” - when selecting a previously input address the error message appears - so I tried deleting the recents and that is where the the software issue became more apparent - I was not able to delete any “recents” - the display indicates that the software maybe associated with GOOGLE but that is not clear - my call to Toyota indicates that their experts believe it was an update that may have been corrupted in transmission - they recommended I see the dealer - I believe I will just wait and see if the problem is resolved with future updates - I am reluctant to take the vehicle to any dealer unless no other option is available - thank you again

Well, that sucks that it will ultimately require a trip ro the dealership.

In the meantime, you might consider using Google Maps in satellite view via CarPlay or Android Auto. I think Google Maps is superior to Toyota's navigation anyway, and it is free. I refuse to pay Toyota a subscription fee for basic navigation, just out of principle. Here's a pic of Google Maps in satellite view on my Tundra's screen. I love it.

Dose my phone have to be in satellite mode all the time or can I just set it on the CarPlay?

On an unrelated aspect of Toyotas navigation, is there any way to enter a destination other than speech-to-text or sending via the app?
There are times I would prefer to type it in.

Just set it in CarPlay on your infotainment screen. It's the little gear button in the upper right hand corner of Google Maps.

Is there a way to get an elevation readout?
