I have a p0430 code and was told it’s the cat on the passenger side. Now should I go with oem, walker, Magnaflow?

Another question I have is will the non fouler trick work with the p0430 code?
My emissions is coming up soon on January of 2026 and I want would like to get that code gone before then.

I have tried like 8 bottles of cataclean(no jokes) it worked the first time I used 1 bottle but it came back and I tried 7 more bottles after the light never went off.

only reason I ask is because I know oem cat is 1.7k and magnaflow cat is $800 and walker is around $400.

    I don’t want to spend 1.7k if I don’t have to.

Heard Walker is pretty close to OEM. Atleast my 90's Lexus are. My Celica has a Magnaflow before them price hikes in Cali still good

My buddy has Magnas on his 2014 and they ended up throwing the code again. He added one of those “filters” at the O2 bung that gets the sensor further out of the stream and it ‘resolved’ his issue.

His truck smells funky as the cats don’t do a good job of burning off everything.

Have you tried clearing the code and it comes back or were you just waiting for it to go away on its own? I'm using universal magnaflow heavy metal series cats on my truck. No codes in over two years. I'd get a muffler shop to weld in a high quality universal one instead of buying the OE fit ones. Probably half the cost.

Yeah. Tried to clear the code and it came back within 4 hours of driving.

Are you near PA by chance? Have a complete set of OEM cats with around 70k on them I may part with.

I’ll think about it and send you a PM on a price. I would not do the work though, sorry!

Also, a cheaper aftermarket alternative is the stainless SPD performance 3” midpipes. They’re louder and a bit smellier, but so far no codes for me. I doubt they’ll last as long as OEM. For me it was more of a flow/sound thing going to the SPD ones more than anything else. My OEM midpipes and cats were removed in one piece (which my mechanic said was a real PITA btw).
