Ever since the powers that be forced those rigid pour spouts onto customers, I’ve had a constant low level irritation with fuel cans, both gas and diesel. Well, the time has come to replace my very old gas containers with new ones. I’ve tried the retrofit nozzle kits and half leak when filling the mower, generator, etc. I can’t quite choke down the cost of the sure cans with the nozzle you squeeze with the spout on the bottom. (Currently $76 bucks for one 5 gallon can, but if they work…..)

I’m now looking at racing jugs with the flexible pvc spouts but there are mixed reviews. I want to believe there’s a better option, maybe I need to take a class at the local YMCA, “Fuel pouring 101”, lol, but I figured I’d see what the rest of you folks are doing in hopes I can eliminate this minor irritant.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Battery operated portable fuel pump, no need for a nozzle anymore, lazy but works. I use the jerry cans from HF, the cap seals good.

I 2nd the utility jugs. Ive had 3 for about 15 yrs now, same ones. Have replaced hoses but thats it. No leaks, no problems.
However, i hear in CA if you’re caught (BLM in off road areas mainly) its a hefty fine as they are not “carb” certified. They used to call them fuel jugs, now they have to market them as utility jugs.
