With the connected Hot Tub you really dont have a choice as to whether you have a heater or not.
Unless of course you want a Cold Tub.
Which we've done several times in the Summer.
As Hot as it gets here in South Texas it's damn near heated anyway.
Mid 90 degree water in late summer is pretty common.

It's not in a windy location is it?
If the pilot light goes out it should automatically fire back up though.
When we had problems with the original heater,it wouldnt stay lit, you'd hear the auto igniter constantly trying to relight the pilot.
Turned out the fix was so high and the unit so old it wasn't worth fixing.

No, its in a fenced area that contains the pump and other pool related things. I was under the impression there were no pilots in the new heaters????

    Didnt know that.
Of course the last heater was old and had a pilot light.
Not sure if the new one does or not since we rarely fire it up.

I am retired, twice. Once from the Army and another from the State Of CA. Initially I was so happy to finally be done, to not "have" to be somewhere at 0530 in uniform (both jobs). Now I realize how much I miss it, not the work but the interactions, structure.... I think I may get a Class A drivers license and drive truck for tomato harvest, its a few months of 12-14 hours days but it's a good chunk of cash and also may remind me why I retired in the first place.

Nice! I got lucky. I left nursing middle of Covid to cover vacations for the drivers and I was hired full time after 3 weeks lol. Never worked in the hub either

Yeah...one of those careful what you wish for moments.
At first it was great being retired!!!
After awhile it gets kinda boring.
Especially if all of your buddies are still working
