Please tell me this doesn't channel water straight into the bed like the other Bakflips? I'm on my second one, have gone back to OffRoad Warehouse for refitting and from posts on the forums and feedback from the installers, that's just a design issue. Any improvements on the design for rain? (and I live in a very light rain part of the country.)

There have been redesigns and improvements made to the newest MX4 model, including the bed rails. They still have the drain tube design to channel water out of the bed through these tubes, but the overall structural design will not only reinforce stability, but help keep water out of the bed.

Are the new TS rails compatible with the older Bakflip MX4?

This is a question that we see a lot- with the redesign of the rails for improved structural integrity, they will not be compatible with older MX4 models. If you're looking to add a rack to your current setup, PM me or email me at forums@realtruck.com and I can put together some recommendations.

Very interested. Is it comparable with Yakima racks? Also, does it retain factory rail inside of the tundras bed as the previous versions have done?

Yakima racks aren't a good match for the MX4 TS. The RealTruck Elevate Rack fits the T-channels rails without any need for modifications, and the tonneau cover panels clear the rack for complete functionality.

I can send you the complete installation guide so that you can take a look at how this works with your Deck Rails. The website does say that it's not compatible. Based on how it installs, you lose the ability to freely move any tie downs along the Deck Rails once you have the MX4 TS rails installed.

In the rack's lowest form, could you confirm that is it lower than the cab? For parking deck purposes and such. Also, is it easy to adjust often? And is the MX4 cover flush with the bed or does it dip into the beds interior space at all? I'll be running this atop a decked storage drawer system, and would like to fit some materials between the cover and the decked system. I would be using the rack for construction work purposes and just curious as to your thoughts since you have it installed. Any info is greatly appreciated! Just want to confirm that this will work for me. Thanks!

So to be clear, mine is not the new MX4 TS with integrated T-Slot rails. My MX4 is a couple years old and uses the Elevate rails, which are separate pieces that mount in conjunction with the tonneau.

I had to buy the Elevate rails (Like $250 I think?)

My cover sits up just a bit, from the pics it looks like this new one might be a bit more flush. You'd have SOME room between Decked drawers and cover, but it ain't gonna' be much.

The Elevate racks now come with holes for LO/MED/HI

When I bought mine they only had HI & LO.

Low was too low to open my tri-fold and high looked pretty goofy, so I drilled my own holes for a MED height.

I use my racks mostly for carrying water toys... I wanted them as low as possible, while allowing me to open the cover and for surfboards and SUP's to clear the cab. I made the choice to keep them low but give up the ability to fold the front panel (wider than the rear panel) up against the cab. I like to be able to see my load anyway, so I'd just take the cover off if I needed full bed access for tall cargo. (2 knobs, 5 minutes)

I wouldn't say it's difficult to adjust the height, but it'd take a few minutes. Two nuts/bolts at each corner. I toyed with the idea of using wing nuts instead of Nyloks, but I don't really need to change mine.

The LOW setting on my racks would be 3" lower than where I have it, I'd guess the center of the crossbars would be slightly below the roofline and the outsides would be slightly above?

Feel free to ask any questions or if you need specific measurements, I could do that later. Again, mine IS NOT the one linked in this thread so I don't know if there's any differences in fit or function.

I will say I'm very happy with both my Bakflip and the Elevate racks, and would do the same thing if doing it over again. Having the integrated T-Slots is a cool innovation/improvement, and could conceivably be a little stronger? (Though I haven't had any problems)

Awesome man. I really appreciate the detailed input. I know there's going to be some differences we won't be able to recognize given these are slightly different systems, but the information you provided is very insightful. Thank you! Pretty sure this is the direction I'm going to go, and if I do, I'll share my experience after the install.

My pleasure, it's surprising how few options there are available to run racks and a tri-fold.

I've been real happy with it so I'm glad to share something good, that's what this place is all about right?

Full Bedrug under with some power and LED strips and you're dialed.

    Hello,

I am contacting you because you seem more responsive than others on your website chat system. A few weeks ago, I ordered the Go Rhino Ceros Roof Rack. After a week without any update on my order, I contacted customer service, and they informed me it would ship within 10 days of my original order date. However, 10 days passed, and the rack still hadn’t shipped. I reached out again, and this time your representative provided a vague timeline without confirming why an item advertised as "in-stock" wasn’t shipped. I expressed my that I ordered the product from your site because I needed it for an upcoming camping trip. Due to the delay, your representative confirmed that I could receive the Truxedo Elevate Rack at my home early next week in time for my trip. I agreed to purchase the FS Rack, TS Rails, and Side Bars from her as she “guaranteed” fitment. I paid for my order and then reviewed my invoice I received via email. I noticed that the representative did not select my truck as having the Toyota Rails, so the hardware installation kit for my truck (1118959) was not included with the TS rails. I sent the sales representative an urgent email but received no response. I then contacted another representative through the chat system, and they were unaware what I was even talking about and very rude (I got the chat convo saved if you want to see it).
To sum it up, I have spent $3k at your company over the past month and have nothing to show for it. I have a feeling my Elevate Rack is going to arrive next week with the wrong mounting hardware, and I still have no idea what is happening with my Go-Rhino Ceros Roof Rack. You already took my money, will it ever leave the warehouse? I might need to cancel my camping trip because of this whole situation. Please help.

I'm truly sorry to hear about all the trouble you're getting to get accurate information for your order. I completely understand how this is frustrating after the amount of money that you've spent and the time that's passed. I'm happy to help in any way that I can. I've sent you a PM, and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Amber the Sr. Sales Rep at Realtruck did an awesome job resolving my concerns. She responded quickly to my call for help and got the correct hardware kit for the bed rack dropped shipped to me within 48 hours.

I was under a strict timeline to get the Roof Rack. When she realized the one I ordered was not going to arrive on time she canceled my order and quickly provided me with other options that were available for quicker delivery. She even gave me a sweet deal for some of my troubles. Looking forward to receiving the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform Kit!

If you’re going to order from Realtruck take the time to reach out to her on this forum. She knows Tundra’s and actually takes the time to talk through things with you. It will make your order so much easier.
