I knew (to the best of my knowledge) there wasn't seed for it.
I may have to start tackling all this about 100 sqft at a time. Front yard is about an acre or so

Given my son cut my grass last time, and he's got ADHD....no. It looks like he tried to cut it with a weedwacker with a broken string.

On a serious note, I told my son to just do a quick cut to get the lawn shorter; and then after that, took the ZTR to the local repair shop not because it was 'broke' but because I've had it for a solid 8 years, and other than the obvious stuff (blade sharpening/repair, tires, oil, etc.) I've done nothing to it. Brought it in and told them "Fix whatever's broken or needing repair" withOUT asking them to call me first.

$500 later :)eek:) they called back. Evidently the engine and transmissions were and are fine...but due to the crappy Missouri lawns (rocks, weeds, etc.) there was a *LOT* of little stuff (battery tray, transmission mounts, etc.) that was either cracked or flat out broken. Only about $150 of the bill was labor; the rest was all parts.

Runs and drives like a new mower now. He'll be recutting it to *MY* specifications this weekend, and I'll be assisting him by weedwacking, replacing some shrubs and such, etc.

Moved 23000 square feet of Bermuda sod from a football field ( going to synthetic ) to a practice area. Went very smooth, district is stoked on the result.KIMG20250610_114946345.jpg KIMG20250611_072333829.jpg

That's very cool you saved that much sod
What is your source for irrigation?

It's public water. We can run close to 200 gallons a minute at 60 psi. Using Hunter I-40 sprinklers

Yep I’ve been moving water for a lot of years, mostly municipal and commercial, started res of course
I’m mostly impressed by the recovery of sod, I’ve seen so much waste

We just installed that football field sod 2 years ago, district got a bond passed to go synthetic. They are trying to save face with the voters by re-using as much of the sod as possible. Bermuda is very resilient and is probably easier to cut and move than most other types of grasses, especially this time of year !
