    Question

Anyone suggest some booze to bring back from South Korea? So far it looks like their scotch selections are top notch, anything else?

    In case anyone was wondering..

The Blood Oath Pact 11 is a great pour. Personally I think it's worth it at $114, which is what I spent per bottle. It's complex, sweet, and light without being dry or leaving you wanting. I don't think I've ever described a whiskey as "refreshing" before, but if I were to use that word this is a pour I would apply it to.

I had a few drinks when I tried it - so forgive me for not having more detailed tasting notes; but it's layered, light, sweet, and a little spicy on the end. No or very minimal "alcohol punch" and just really enjoyable neat. Would recommend.

You will find some Wild Turkey offerings there that do not exist in the US.. I've never been, but this is what I gather from Whiskey forums. Personally, I have found that travel to foreign countries is a great way to source American whiskeys at retail prices...

This is one I would like to try but refuse to pay 400 plus for it. Also I just noticed the label on the neck is the same colors used on Hancock's Reserve just in reverse.

Definitely not worth the secondary prices. I paid $100 and even at that, I wouldn't buy it again. It was a good bottle, but not over msrp

My local store is showing it to be in stock today. I believe they have 7 bottles of it... Is it supposed to be a good release?? I know EC BPs have been missing the mark a bit in terms of aging on their 12yr (some have been down into the late 10s) and proofs have been somewhat tame...

Although, I imagine that could be an 'allocation' number but (normally speaking) it should be hitting the shelves as of today :notsure:

I'm thinking most of us are keeping our fingers crossed that the C-Batch this year (C525) will have at least an actual 12 year age to it.

I'll swing by there later today and see if we actually have it on shelf though....

Edit: Ok, quick search shows the B525 as having an 11yr 6mo age on it, and proof sitting 126.2 Should be decent though, so if it's there, I'll grab one since they are only $75...

I actually have pretty much every ECBP for the last 4ish years, but am missing the C923.. I find them all to be pretty good, but do have some favorites. I don't worry too much about the 12year age statement removal as I don't consider age to be the most critical component of enjoyability, but certainly an important variable.

The A125 was phenomenal and among, at least in my estimation, one of the best ECBP releases, and I highly recommend picking one up if still available near you.

Copy that... I'll see if they still have an A125 floating around as well :hattip:

Agree that the Rock Hill Farms isn't worth secondary prices. It's good but not that good.

Well crap, it looks like they are using a sku tied to whatever the most current release is for any version/vintage of that offering

In other words, (7) bottles of the same C924s from last year :frusty:

Fortunately, I was already in town. So, I didn't waste any drive time or Tundra fuel, but they need to differentiate those releases on the website.
