I know this is an old thread but I always try to post information when I couldn't find it anywhere. I just installed the XBs on my 2010 CM and the lights were about 8-10 in out of whack. The drivers side was high. First thing was the inside of the assembly (circled in red in first photo) must slide into the slot on the sheet metal (circled in red after install). This is what anchors the bracket to the inside similar to the 10 mm bolt on the outside. I naturally installed the passenger correctly but the drivers side was sitting on top forcing the alignment to be hopelessly high.

And counter-clockwise is up/clockwise is down.

This is what I couldn't find anywhere. There are warning all over the assembly that warn you not to over turn. They recommend no more than three turns or damage will result. I marked the gear and started counting. I know I did more turns than they recommend but each turn does a lot less that I thought. I was nervous but I went slow and actually used an 1/4" 8 mm shallow socket on a knurled, finger grip driver (below) so I could feel is it was over torquing or loosening. I also started on the highest setting on the motorized cab headlight adjuster figuring if I was getting flashed I could do minor adjustments in real time.

My truck is nearing 16 years old so it was tough to rationlize spending a grand on new headlight but after buying a couple of $200 range pairs of replacements that yellowed after 18-24 months, I figured I make the jump to full LEDs. I considered the Form ones. Those look cool but what I would've saved over the Morimotos would have been chewed up in color matching that lower brow trim beneath the headlight. You know the ones where the plastic pegs break off.

After getting these things lined up, the difference is extreme. I've been limping along relying on some relatively new Diode Dynamics fogs to get me through my rural morning commute in the dark. When I would turn those off, i would wonder if I had a bulb out in the stock headlights. Lighting has come a long way in 15 years. Overall happy with the lights. Install was easy except for the aiming which I hope is made a little easier after reading this. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. It helped.

Oh yeah...pay attention to the way the gear is turning if you choose to use a phillips head screw driver. I'm too lazy to confirm but I think turning it clockwise makes the gear turn counter-clockwise. That was counter intuitive
