Note: I’m updating the first post with suggestions as they come in…

    Hello Forum,
My 2016 Tundra current has 119k miles on the clock and will go on 1000+ mile road trips on a regular basis.
What spares should I keep in the truck?
This is what I have so far...

    Tools:
    - Metric Socket Set
    - Metric Wrench Set
    - Metric Allen Key Set
    - VIAIR Air Compressor
    - Tire Repair / Plug Kit
    - Jumper Cables
    - Jump Pack
    - Zip Ties
    - Duct Tape
    - Electical Tape
    - Bailing Wire
    - Electrical Wire
    - Work / Mechanic Gloves
    - 18” 1/2” Drive Breaker
    - 22mm 1/2” Drive Deep Socket (for Lug Nuts)
    - Note: Some may need a 23mm Socket due to salt corrosion / expansion
    - Flashlight / Magnetic Worklight / Headlamp

    Spare Parts:
    - (1) OEM Spark Plug [Just replaced all 8...]
    - (1) OEM Ignition Coil
    - (1) Same Size Spare Tire on OEM Aluminum Wheel
    - Fuses
    - Bulbs
    - Radiator / Heater Hoses and Clamps
    - Antifreeze (1 Gallon)

    Other:
    - Ratchet Straps
    - Bungee Cords
    - Tow / Recovery Strap
    - Traction Boards (if Off-roading…)
    - Small Gas Can (1 to 5 Gallons)
    - Safety Vest
    - Road Flare
    - Blanket

My spare parts list for my 2003 Lexus LX470 was much larger, but it was older and had a few more miles on it.

Thank you in advance for your knowledge / assistance.
    Tom

I would add fuses as well. SoTexTundra had a good list too. Anyone else?

Did you buy them from a toyota parts store or just a auto parts store?

I'm sorry, I did not buy them from a Toyota parts store. I bought Bussman Toyota specific fuses from Autozone.

CASH...Nothing fixes problems in a far off land like green dollar bills.
I really don't carry spares besides fuses. I'm putting together my Gen 3 now like my 2.5 so I'm really looking at what I carry as far as tools, recovery gear, SHTF gear, etc. For mechanical I just want to be able to get myself to a shop/parts store where the cash comes in handy.

Small tool kit with metric sockets/wrenches
    Mini jump box
    Mini tire compressor
    Folding 4 way lug wrench
    Duct tape
    Electrical tape
    Wire ties
    Electrical wire
    hose clamps
    wire ties
    Gloves
    Safety vest

I carry the basic tools. Bungee cords, string, jumper cables, air pump, tire plug kit, tow straps, 5 gallon gas can, traction boards, a gallon of anti freeze, a flare, gloves, blanket, and other things I can’t think of now.

Yes! I forgot the tire plug kit! I carry one of those too.
I also carry an empty one gallon jug just in case.

When I use to go 4 wheeling in my jeep. They always said to at least bring bungee cords and duck tape. :rofl:But, if I was gonna go 4 wheeling, I would also bring spare parts like axles and u-joints. And more tools to deal with those problems.

This is a must for me.

    https://www.amazon.com/GIMFOOM-Star...749180418&sprefix=hulkma,aps,684&sr=8-11&th=1

Plus an assortment of wrenches, tow straps, Viair air pump. And a lot of things already mentioned. Rescue tape too.
Plus, because I use them, folding chairs, camping grill, tackle box, ratchet straps, bait cooler, Foxwing poles, tie downs and stakes. The Foxwing goes on the roof racks when I need it, or when I'm going to the beach too often to want to remove and re-install every couple of days. It does subtract about 1.5 mpg.
    ARB deflator. Fire extinguisher.

Based on the replies, I’ve added items to my original post. I’ll add a section for Off-roading spares as well.

My tool box pretty much lives in the truck. Work construction and always need sockets or a wrench.
    Tow strap.
    Flashlight.
    Jumper box.
    Small tire compressor.
    Extra jack.

When on camping trips, just about anything imaginable for Just In Case scenarios.

Check the build link in my signature.
    It’s a naturally aspirated Toyota V8
In nearly 17 years and 450k miles (across two trucks), I’ve never needed anything while out on the highway. I stay pretty minimal for the most part - have a forest aid kit, a little recovery gear, axe and shovel, folding bow saw, pair of gloves, some ratchet straps, leatherman, lighter, flashlight. My spare is full size. But that’s it.

I used to carry spare bulbs for headlights and turn signals and the tools to swap them.
But since swapping all bulbs to LEDs, it's just the tools I'll probably never use.

    b9375c5e-b105-43e9-9b69-afc30a4e47bd_df122449472e191e532d2fae0a148a1d18a2fddc.jpg

I have a tool box in the bed with basic tools; screwdrivers, socket sets, zip ties, wire cutters, the usual stuff.
I've had that in the truck from when the wife and I did some remodeling on her Dad's house before he passed.

    Not parts or tools, but;
Lighter, matches, Leatherman, Band-Aids, Q-tips, Self-Adhesive Bandage Wrap (my skin tears easily), tape measure (for wife's shopping), phone charging cables, genric Glock holster, 3X5 cards, and spare reading and sunglasses.
Console lid, napkins, 2-in-1 Seatbelt Cutter and Window Breaker, flashlight, and a little extra cash.
I used to keep a rechargeable flashlight in there but I was concerned about the battery overheating in the 100° + temps in the summer, although I do keep a jump start pack under the back seat...

Pretty simple Plywood boxes with some marine hatches. "Waterproofed" them with oil based spar varnish and paint thinner (how they did things years ago on wooden boats) then I did DIY bedliner.

    None at this point.
I generally dont carry anything but maybe some basic stuff.
The way I look at is if anything does break the odds of me having the correct tools to fix whatever it might be are pretty slim.
    Not to mention parts.
I do carry a lot of extraction devices for off roading since those are pretty basic.
I cant say I've ever had a Toyota breakdown while on the road.....Ever!!
I'd say my cell phone would be the most used tool....if it were to actually break down.
