center console wireless charger

good morning has anyone installed the wireless phone charger on top of the center console Amazon has several raging in price but toyota makes one for almost 200 any experience and if so which one did you use thank you

 

I bought an Amazon on and stopped using it almost immediately. I don’t know if it’s just an iPhone thing or not, but there was some discussion here a long time back about the camera bump not allowing the charger to efficiently connect. M phone got HOT. Like should I put this somewhere else because it’s going to burn up HOT.

There is a thread around here where folks have modified the charger to use a different charge port that is raised up and looks like it allows for the camera bump but I am done with wireless charging in my truck.

I use one like that.
With the Magsafe case, it stays in place while driving.
I can even open the console lid, and it won't fall off.



I first had the OEM part but as @Thwagr stated, the phone got so hot it wouldn't charge.
It doesn't get as hot with the raised charger in that thread.

 

was the oem the toyota brand that is 200 bucks

 

Yes, it was the OEM part when they first came out, not sure what I paid for it.
You can get copies on Amazon.

I got mine on eBay years ago.

 

I have this set up. It was great for almost 1 full year and just stopped working last week.
