Finished today and headed to its new home soon. Guess where? This commission is a gift. The recipient loved hunting elk during his stay in Oregon and the rain drop pattern is supposed to remind him of, what? Rain! I stabilized the elk scales and added some black G-10 linersIMG_2642.jpg IMG_2641.jpg IMG_2643.jpg IMG_2644.jpg IMG_2645.jpg

That looks great buddy! I like the file work on the spine. I mean, I like the whole thing but the file work looks great. Guess I could post more of what I've made.

    Stiletto..
The biggest problem with the stiletto is they dont lock as firmly as a standard type blade.
Just told the Wife my Birthday is coming up next month and I pointed out one of the 3K knives and She laughed at me and said...
So you dont want the Supercharger after all....

Finished this one yesterday. The handle material is yew, provided by the client, that I stabilized and added the orange g-10 liners to.IMG_2657.jpg IMG_2656.jpg IMG_2655.jpgI’m not sure if he wants a leather sheath or kydex. Have a call in, but have not heard back yet.

Thank you buddy! It takes a little while but it's worth it in my opinion. I just finished tempering it. A nice straw color throughout.

This is only a problem when the blade hits the bone. There’s a few good spots where you can get the job done without that!

    True...but I hate a knife with a sloppy blade.
Max i've spent on a pocket knife is a bit over $300 bucks.
And it locks up tighter than a Nuns Coochie!!!

    This stack is 15N20 & 1095.
    I have worked with;
    1084
    5160(spring steel)
    52100 (ball bearing steel)
    W2
    M2 (drill bit steel)
    Apex Ultra
    Super White #1
    Super Blue #1
    Band saw blades
    Chainsaw chain
    Power trowel blades

    edit, and some other steels

these days though, I’m pretty much just using 15N20 & 1084 most of the time.

Yep, that's a good combination. 15N20 is good steel as is 1095. That's what I'm making my current knife out of. It's going to a buddy of mine I used to work with. I use 5160 as well. That's about the only 2 steels I use.

this one is from all “found” materials.
The blade is from a worn out power trowel blade combined with broken bandsaw blade pieces. The handle is black walnut from a broken gun stock.
