Hello all, looking to change the seats on my 2020 SR5 for some Corbeau trailcat seats with their brackets for 07-21 Tundra, but am worried about airbag lights and or other sensors being set off. I know I'll be losing the seat airbags and the power driver seat which I'm completely fine with just don't want the truck constantly beeping at me just daily driving. Has anybody on here done anything similar or have any insight as to how I might be able to bypass or fool the sensors? Below are the links to the seats and brackets I plan on purchasing. Thank y'all!

I believe you are able to disable the beeping and seat sensors with Carista. :monocle:

Just googled them and it does say I would be able to clear any codes regarding airbags and entirely disable seatbelt dings so that might work. Thank you

I’ll look into that. May just purchase one and keep around for future use. Thanks again

@RikkiBobbi did a seat mod and details are listed in the what did you do to your 2.5 gen today thread. Been about 1.5 years ago I think.

Ask the Planted Tree people if they have a better seat plant so you don't need the risers, I would have except I had already done the work so too late but it would make for a nicer looking set up but as of today zero issues with the risers , feels like i'm driving a car not a truck

I’ll look into that. Planning on going with the corbeau branded brackets because they have the sliders preinstalled and should have all the right holes for their seat. Also if something were to go wrong I don’t want the problem blamed on me not using their tundra specific bracket. Just read through your posts and found the resistors. Thank you so much!

Yo - it’s been a minute. Did you get the Corbeaus installed? Any feedback? Thinking I might yank the stock seats outta my truck.

Honestly haven’t gotten around to it yet. Use it too much for work currently that I don’t wanna put new seats in and then destroy them so likely gonna do it at the end of summer before leaving for college. Other thing I’ve been trying to figure out is the passenger side airbag and if there’s a manual switch for that before I do put new seats in

Be keen to hear your feedback on these compared to the stock seats (Been looking at the same). I really don’t like the tundra’s seats, the bolstering is terrible.

    They look great tho!

Feel night and day better on the short drive I took. Lumbar support is much better than the oem and the seat heaters feel great.

Aye thats awesome and I hear you on the seat heaters, I retrofitted my OE’s!

How is the seat height compared? like a truck still or more cockpit like a car?

These sit noticeably lower and do hug you a little more. Installation will require you to tear apart the passenger seat, airbag bypasses, tear electronics off OE driver seat. I purchase a set of part out seats and it took me about 3 days of work and I’m still not completely done

No problem. Install was a pain in the ass to be honest. You will destroy a set of oem seats to do it correctly, even now my passenger airbag is turned off until I find a way to fool the weight sensors or have someone with tech stream turn them on permanently

Yeah, you made it sound unappealing ha! Good on you for seeing it through. Post a few photos of some of the work if you have them, be interested in seeing more, I'm sure a few other guys would as well.

Can’t wait for some install pics. I would’ve thought the install would be plug and play: unplug some harnesses and drop some new brackets in for the new seats.

I still need to take pics. The seats themselves are easy it’s the electronics and making sure there’s no airbag lights. Not for certain but I’ve heard if there’s airbag lights then some airbags might not work. I still haven’t finished fooling the passenger weight sensors so that I can have working passenger airbags

Here’s some install pics. Finally got the sensors fooled so passenger seat can go in had to use a angle grinder to cut out all the weight sensor mounts, use the original seat brackets which will be getting cut tomorrow so they’ll fit underneath the Corbeau bracket, hose clamped and c clamped everything to put pressure on itIMG_3526.jpg IMG_3528.jpg IMG_3527.jpg
