I feel like living in a shit hole like NYC when you're not rich, especially in the 70's and 80's, would be enough to drive teens to use.

It’s a Chihuly specific gallery, located right under the Seattle space needle. It’s really big, that’s probably only 1/3 of the stuff there. I think he’s from Washington or grew up there? Something like that.

    Tacoma WA, per Wikipedia

That explains it. The exhibit at the ATL Botanical Gardens was freaking nuts when he had it here. They still have a lot of pieces from it, and picked up at least one other big one during the exansion a few years back, but even the most grandiose, I don't think, compares to what's in your pictures.

Discount Tire has a Hunter alignment machine now. $89. That's probably who I'll use next time I need one. I'm getting a rotation today.

I really want to build a set of these wood ramps. Maybe some day.

Our local one got one not too long ago too. They've done alignments on two of our cars and got them in the green anyway. Now if only they could figure out how to balance tires.

Overall the system sounds great, but could use some better help in the tuning area. I'm gonna blame a little on the $160 android head unit ( these 2015 model stangs have an unusual headunit setup in them, replacement is $1400 or so for anything that will fit, the $160 Android unit is a blessing and a curse). Running the supplied crossovers for the separates in the front. These sound great and have good midrange punch and low end. Mid is smooth and pretty balanced. The tweeters are still a bit bright and brassy. We've used the EQ in the radio and on the Spotify app to mute them down a bit, but they are still very shiny. They seem to need attenuation more than anything. Maybe I can find some sort of in-line attenuation to cut them down 3-6db or so. Soundstage is really good. And of course the JLs are big, rich, and now a bit boomy in the ported boxes. Need to find that dang bass boost knob to chill them out.

Same here. It'd be really convenient.

Adding an alignment rack would only be easy money for them.

There's only 2-3 around the entire ATL metro area that do alignments. But they're so far away from me that I'm just as well off going to LexTechs and having them do it for me, likely for about the same $$$.

I need to get the HiHy aligned, was seeing a slight bit of outer edge wear, looks more like feathering than anything, but ...

Actually, maybe I'll just get the dealer to do the alignment when I go in for these two 4th Gen Highlander recalls in July.

I mean, you just saved $1,240 on a replacement radio, and a DM-608 AudioControl DSP retails around $600 and would probably let you really dial things in ...

Agree, but we’re reusing all of his previous stereo equipment minus the infinity’s that we left behind in the old stang. He’s a broke, just now post graduate college kid. That $600 is being saved for a house down payment. And he’s looking for a real job rn. Maybe a future add in.

Here's what kills me, I bought these SPC arms to get additional caster adjustment but no one will touch them. Even the 4x4 shops. So if I can't get anyone to make adjustments at the arms, I might as well save $60.

The caster is the easier part on the SPC. The camber is the tricky part. Pretty much need a laser

That's so odd to me, the firestone here in CO does mine and has no problem with the SPC arms.

I’ve been to Yosemite, Moab, San Juan mountains, a ton of cool places in the US. They don’t really compare to Olympic Natl Park.

That tiny little ship out there is 1200 feet long. The whole park is like 1500 sq. miles.

CO is ranked quite a bit higher in education than TN. I'd imagine you're dealing with a more intelligent group than me.

Cyber and data privacy issues are rampant with connected cars. As far back as 2020, used Tesla Media Control Units were appearing on eBay that still contained sensitive personal data beyond phone numbers to include previous owners' account passwords and GPS coordinates. Part of this was due to the fact that a Tesla "factory reset" was just a simple reformat of the memory space and not a secure wipe. This is likely true of many other manufacturers. At the least, you should do your best to erase obvious personal data from infotainment systems being discarded. FWIW Consumer Reports provides some suggestions on how to do that.

Yeah, I’m not sure how the phone books are stored in these radios, but I wasn’t eager* to dig. I’m curious but there’s zero value in it for me.
