I have been visiting this page for 7 years, hoping to one day be able to join, and today is the day. Yesterday I purchased my first truck, a 2007 5.7L 4x4 CrewMax Tundra. I have been looking for a truck with these specs for many years, but due to finances, purchasing one was delayed. My dad has a 2011 5.7L double cab that he purchased in 2017. He bought it with 160k miles on it, and it is going strong now at 280k miles. I knew that I also wanted a tundra and found one in my favorite color. It has 173k miles on it, and I want it to last a long time. I know that 2007 was the first introduction of the 5.7L V8, and anyone I have talked to says to avoid first-generation years when buying a vehicle, but this is a Tundra, the most reliable truck ever. I was wondering what are some fun mods to put on this truck as well as what maintenance I should be looking to do soon, with it being at 173k miles

Some fresh ATF if not already done. Mods are a slippery slope for sure. Plenty on here to do.

Welcome from WA and congrats on the new truck! Do you have any previous maintenance records? First off would recommend an ATF (transmission fluid) drain and fill unless you have records of it being done recently.

Yes. ATF = Automatic Transmission Fluid.

    Welcome.

Do the TRD rear anti sway bar mod.

    Welcome officially to the forum!

If you have a maintenance record posting it here would help us recommend what has been missed. Or you could always check by color of the fluid and see what needs to be done

but for starters you’ve got your differential fluid (and transfer case and front diff if 4wd)
As well as checking ATF would be a good idea (several YT videos on how to do it)
    Maybe flushing your coolant
