First mission of the year at Big Sandy National Recreation area in central MN. About 100 miles south of the Mississippi headwaters. The river is like 40 ft wide here going past a small dam into the lake.
Nice campground, all sites have power, a dump station, and plenty of docks at lakeside to keep boat in water for the trip.
    Definitely coming back.
Will post a pic of the puny mosquito infested Mississippi tomorrow.

I definitely want to fish this lake.
Been passing it for years going further north.

24 foot Wildwood, 19 foot Four Winns. STILL in the garage because our lake has been flooded, it was at 1 point 30 feet above summer pool. They had to shut down the camp sites and turn off the electric due to the flooding. Central KY has been hit by lots of rains since March, they say now they will open mid July. We can only hope.

Just an observation here; I just got back from a ~750 mile round trip and started counting 1/2 ton trucks pulling travel trailers. Tundras came out on top with 6 spotted on the PA turnpike. Two Ford and no Chevys. I did spot one Chevy being loaded on a rollback.
It was also noted that all the 1/2 ton trucks I saw pulling trailers would have been ignored by the payload Police. Good job folks!

323BHDS Catalina. It's a bit on the heavy side but the truck pulls it well. I load the bags to 60psi, adjust the BP51's to compression 8, recoil 10, and use a 10,000lb non WDH. Need a BBK yet before a two week road trip coming up... Not set on what to go with yet. Any suggestions? Never mind... Just ordered a full Alcon kit.

    Always wanted one!!
But in Texas ya Gotta have A/C if you want to camp in the summer.
85 Friggin degrees if not higher and 90% humidity is Brutal when you're trying to get some Shuteye!!
Standard procedure was to get drunk enough to pass out and pay for it in the morning....
Had a custom canvas tent made with a sock with a drawstring for a window unit.
You'd wet it down just before bedtime and the high humidity became your friend.
It would stay wet all night long.
Had a 150 foot heavy duty extension cord that I made just for the A/C so you could put the generator behind the sand dunes at the beach or you could put it behind the Truck.
While the tent was expensive it was the best bucks I've ever spent on a tent!!

    These Guys made it....

Recently picked up an Encore ROG 14TH1! Our first camper, never thought I'd own one this large!

It's big enough for my small family, small enough to be parked a long the side of our house. It fits our Yamaha Grizzly for hunting trips and our e-bikes for weekend adventures. It needs a few odds and ends to make it "ours" and a little more usable (toilet, hot water heater for outdoor showers, pullout couch), but that should be easy/fun!

Maiden voyage was to San Diego - we loaded up the e-bikes and toured around the city! It hauled a little harder behind the Tundra than I thought it would, only being 2,400lbs. Haven't hooked it up to the new truck yet, we'll see how it goes!

We are embarking on our inaugural trip in this Class C to OH. First stop is a KOA in Hot Springs, AR. This heat sure makes me glad we have AC in this thing.

It's a 2011 Four Winds Chateau 31K. 32.5 ft long and has the V10 on a Ford E450 chassis. Only had 19k miles. I have replaced the OEM steering stabilizer, OEM shocks, tires, LED lighting, new awning fabric, LED headlights & turn signals, new reverse camera, head unit, and did all routine maintenance.

Hope everyone is having a good season, just completed the Lake Superior trip, about 2000km of towing, the trip was beautiful and the truck just hauled, I love the shocker hitch and I think I'm gonna give the wdh shocker a try, she got heavy during this trip, and definitely shocks/springs upgrade for the trailer, Northern Ontario roads were rough, but the sceneries were beautiful

I bought this Maxpeedingrods 3500w generator last year, it works decent when it's at low load, but when it's charging my battery bank at full blast it was god awful, it disturbed the whole forest, do anyone have a recommendation for a quiet generator when running at full tilt?

My Honda 2000i is super quiet but not as much juice as that noisy one that you have. We have never used it on any camping trip but just for work applications. Honda has a newer model "2200i" but these are usually a bit more money than other brands.

Most of camp charging is done with solar and recently picked up a Renogy 1000 portable power station to add a bit more back up to our system. The Renogy was on sale and might still be.

If my trailer battery needs a boost, this power box will give us another option so we can stay off grid longer without using the Honda.

One thing I've noticed in a Class C vs TT is the noise and the fact you'll feel every bump/expansion joint/road patch whereas you won't experience any of that when hauling a TT because you're not in the trailer to experience it lol. Big time pro for owning a TT vs motorhome. That being said, I replaced all our OEM shocks with Bilsteins and it made a world of difference.

As far as generators go, I'd go with an inverter if you hate the noise. They're way more quiet even under load. I have a Predator 4550 and it was a joy to use before we switched to a bigger standby genset.

I've been debating on getting the smaller brother, the 1000i, just to help top off when we experience low amounts of sun. I swear to god, there's been rain in every single camping trip we've done since we've gotten our trailer.

We have 200AH BB on board and supplement it with an Ecoflow Delta Pro 3 and a Delta Max Extra Battery for a rough total of 700AH. I use their alternator charger to move power between the on board and Deltas with 300W installed solar on the trailer and supplement with 620W external.

We have been lucky out West with all the sun. Our last trip was all sun for weeks. The trouble we ran into was the wildfire smoke but still got good solar production.

Have the 2000 myself and while it's Super Quiet it lacks the juice I want for the Camper.
    Bought the EU7000....
It's still sitting in the garage in the box.
Need to drag it out and fire it up.

We were worried about a burn ban when we first started heading out to NM since we heard about some of the wildfires out in that direction but by the time we got there, they were in a blue zone safe for contained fires. Thought we were golden and ended up getting rained on midweek while we were there with small hail to top it off, lol.

We stopped in Jasper and this is what the campground looked like after the blaze rolled through in 2024! We fully understand the need to control burning. We actually carry a propane fire bowl which they don't seem to ban anywhere.

Yeah...figured I'd get the big one so I could use it at the house if the power were to go out.
While it's only happen once in the last 20 years due to a hurricane I figure it's better to be safe than sorry.
I was Lucky enough to be in the hospital getting my hip replaced when it happened.
If you can call getting your hip replaced lucky. But it was still out when I got out of the hospital, didnt have power for over two weeks!!
The 2000 is just powerful enough to run a window unit for the Bedroom so you could at least get a decent nights sleep.
A shit load of people were running the cheap Loud generators which kinda sucked having to listen to em but ya cant really blame them.
There wasn't a generator to be found in a 200 mile radius!!!
And people were buying them up and doubling the price!!
Of course price gouging is against the law during events like Hurricanes.
They'll nail you to the wall if they catch you doing it!!!

    None at this point.
Every once in a while if the wind is coming out of the right direction,or wrong direction if you're on the receiving end, we'd get the smoke from the Sugarcane fields in Mexico when they'd burn them before the harvest.
It could get pretty miserable and the sky turns kind of a yellowish color.
Thank God it happens very rarely!!!
