As the title says the rear seat won’t lock up. It stays down but would not lock or latch up. I’ve tried pulling on the handles and re-popped the seat rear and slammed it shut a few times but the bottom seat section would not lock up. Have pulled and tugged on the grab handle but it doesn’t seem to have any play in it. It worked fine for a while but suddenly gave up.

Why do you need to have them up anyway? You don't have any storage under the seats.

Take it to the dealership for this fun repair...

For my dogs platform, for carrying stuff that I don’t want to put on my seat.

On my 25 (non-hybrid) I noticed you have to open the seat and actually push it into the seat back a little to compress the cushion slightly before it will latch in the open position. Maybe try that?
