Hello, anyone have recommendations on truck bed caps for 3rd gen tundra? A bunch out there. I like the concept of the Smartcap modular system but never had one.

Also, anyone ever relocated their bed/mirror camera's to the truck cap?

    Thanks, JB

I don't have a Smarcap, but would love to have an extra $5k laying around to pick one up. I believe they have a window that allows the bed camera to see into the cap without having to relocate.

I’ve got the smartcap evo sport on a gen 3 short bed. Definitely a premium item with a premium cost, I wouldn’t do it any other way though. The only thing I don’t love is the positive pressure vent up top. If you regularly use an automatic car wash you have to tape it up or it’ll push water in. I don’t though and usually hand wash and it’s not a problem. Sitting in or driving in rain I hadn’t gotten any leaks. As for the cameras, the bed view camera is entirely usable, but the digital rear view is not for me. That’s a new feature to me though and am not really missing it.

i just installed this relocation kit. Well made and simple install. In his install you move both cameras close together since they are on one harness, but I separated them without issues so you can put each camera wherever you wish.

I can't see out the rear of my smartcap very well so I installed a Wolfbox TriPro and mounted camera to the top/back of the smartcap

GG Offroad has the camera relocation kit that you need.

They also have the brake light harness you'll need for your camper shell too, otherwise your center brake light will flash with the turn signal if you splice the tail light harness.
