    I have a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro.

I was driving down a dry paved street today when suddenly the auto LSD light came on on. I didn’t press any buttons or anything and honestly have no idea if there is an auto LSD button.

Anyone know why that light would suddenly pop on?

Auto LSD is part of the traction control system. To enable it, you have to push the traction control button once. Maybe the button got accidently pressed or bumped? It's on the driver's lower right knee side with the brake controller and tow haul button.

All I see is a tow haul button and brake control.

Pg 318 of your owner's manual talks about the Auto LSD feature... (the system really has nothing to do with the differential, it electronically reduces power to the slipping wheel/tire when it senses slippage)

The traction control button is tucked in the center stack of controls under the HVAC stack (forward of your shift selector). See page 321 of your owner's manual for details of the system and how pushing the button on and off affects the systems. There's a few settings, including push and hold, toggle, etc...

I thought it mechanically applies brake to the slipping wheel when 'lsd' button is pressed.

My 2019 had no LSD button, but used the traction control switch, the car with the squiggly tire tracks. One push activated auto LSD. It should only be used at low speeds. Not for driving around town. Think, stuck in wet grass or slippery muddy driveway. It worked very well in my truck when pulling trailers out of my wet yard and the tires wanted to slip. Holding the traction button down would disable traction control all together. On the 2020+ models, I believe the button got moved to under the AC controls by the USB outlets.

By electronically, I mean it is not a mechanical LSD system (such as a Torsen, etc..)...

It uses the ECUs to reduce power (control engine performance and yes it will apply the brakes as well) to aid in traction... All in the manual

Its this button, on mine it's under the hvac panel, next to the USB plugs, but Canadian trucks have different arrangement:

Yes, it's a slow abs actuation.
