We park ours at the fishing lease.
Built a roof over it to make sure a shed limb doesnt punch a hole in it.
And the A/C doesnt have to work so hard.

Yeah...thats one of the big reasons we got a Lance.
Most people dont know this but not all campers are four season approved.
They're much better insulated than most other brands.
And If I remember correctly the Lance has dual pane windows.

It's been my experience that when it's cold out, the inside of the trailer will stay about 8-10* warmer than the outside. Tested this at T2S when lows were right around 32*. Since it was just me, I didn't turn on the heater and woke to low 40's inside. Only takes a few minutes to warm it up to mid 60's with the main heater. Yes, we have the dual pane acrylic windows.

We've also camped on the river when it was 115* and the AC worked great keeping it around 80* inside. We had shore power, so I was also running a floor fan inside. We will not be doing that again...the trailer was comfortable, but unless you were in the water it wasn't much fun.

While it gets plenty Hot in South Texas 115 is extremely rare and as they say "it's not the heat it's the humidity" which we have in spades!!
Camping in the summer is damn near impossible without at least a fan.
I had a custom made canvas tent and it had a sock off the side with a drawstring for a window unit.
You'd wet the tent down just before sunset and fire up the A/C and it got really cold!!!
The only problem was you had to get up at some point to refuel the generator.

Well, after a ton of disappointments in our search for a Class C RV, we finally found one that didn't get snatched up by someone else. The damn thing was only a little over an hour away from us so we drove down early, test drove, haggled, and shook hands. Pretty stoked as this is our first RV so we have never glamped.

It's a 2010/2011 Four Winds Chateau (Thor) 31K. 32 ft long and has 1 super slideout. V10 6.8L w/only 19k miles. She needs some TLC but mechanically this thing is mint. If anyone has some pointers to throw my way, I'm all ears. My Amazon shopping list is already at 15 or 20 things...

My simple setup for taking my oldest boy (5) camping. Napier truck tent with an Air Bedz mattress. Having the 6.5' bed makes for a pretty nice camping experience, even have a good bit of storage space at the foot of the mattress. It's one of the reasons I didn't go for a CrewMax, despite how much I like that roomy cab.signal-2025-03-07-163336_004.jpg

Looks like everyone had a fun Memorial Day Weekend!

Last minute my wife and I drove up to Canada through Kingsgate and did 2 nights of wild dispersed camping and 1 night at White Swan Lake. We hit the trunk road, then Calgary, over to have lunch in Banff, then Lake Louise, and down to White Swan through Kootenay Park and Settlers Road. In 30 minutes we saw a grizzly, black bear, Moose, deer, and earlier that day some big mountain goats. Barely took any photos cuz we were just enjoying it.

890 miles, with about 300 off road

The little bit of mud left does no justice to all the types of terrain we hit

Weekend camping trip to Land Between the Lakes with the family. Wasn’t sure about the rain that was expected but ended up staying mostly dry until we packed up to head home. Relaxed and kayaked quite a bit which both of my girls loved being on the water. All in all had a good time. IMG_4796.jpg IMG_3605.jpg IMG_4777.jpg IMG_4759.jpg IMG_4749.jpg

The amount of people that see no problem stopping on a provincial highway to take a picture of a f’in goat blows my mind. You did the right thing by enjoying the moment and moving on. Not everthing in life needs to be posted online.
glad you enjoyed your trip to our beautiful country.

Congratulations, my guy. That's an awesome floorplan. So will you be throwing a War Boys decal on the hood? lol. Seriously though (because you asked for pointers) when, not if, but when you have to reseal your roof, I recommend this stuff https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EM9GAA8 Used it on my Coachman Clipper. It's thick, bright and cleans well.

Went on our 1st camping trip this week. After summarizing the camper this week, I’m glad to report that my 1st time winterizing last year, I had no broken pipes. :thumbsup:IMG_8421.jpg
