Throttle body cable harness

On my 00 tundra SR5 access cab V8 4.7 I got a new throttle body and when I went to disconnect the wire connections and one of the wire brackets just crumbled. I need help identifying what wires go into port. On the black connection side I have black in port 4, pink in port 3, yellow in port 2, and blue in port 1. But on the grey connections I have no idea. On the male grey connector the wire colors are green/black stripe, green/white stripe, black/yellow stripe, and pink/blue stripe

 

The grey connector for your 2000 AC V8 with those colors should be for the T2 Throttle Position Sensor.

As for black connector, mind posting a pic of what that is plugging into. The 2000 EWD does not show a black connector with those colors, in particular for the Throttle motor.

The black connector is the same cable as the grey connectors. It’s the black connector on one end, the white, black, yellow, blue wires get plugged into the female grey connector on the other end of black connector. The male grey connector is on the wire harness, and the one that connects the b/y, p/l, g/w, b/g.

 

OP - never ever cut a Toyota harness. They sell every plastic connector and you can easily repin them with the original wires.

 

Thanks for the advice bit I didn’t cut it, it broke apart being fragile from years of heat, snow, salt, etc.

 

Right, but you can simply buy replacement plastic connector from Toyota for ~$2-3, then slide the pins into the new plastic. It's what folks typically do for the injector and coil pack plastic plugs that like to break tabs or fall apart when popping them off. If the plastic falls apart, but the metal wire terminal ends are still there, it's plug-and-play. If the pins/ends are still in the plastic for some wires, you can use a 1mm-2mm flathead to pop them out. Super easy, far less work, no cutting needed. Even if the wires pull out of the connector, you can buy the wire ends, and use the proper crimper to crimp them on, then insert to the new OEM plastic/molex plug.

 

I get that, but my question was not about not cutting a harness it was about the color wire goes in what pin. I am really good at fixing cable ends with new plugs. But to say nothing was intact, the pins, plastic all of it just crumbled away and was not identifiable

 

I have a 00 tundra SR5 access cab V8 4.7 complete wire harness kicking around in my shop. But for some reason my throttle body plug has different color wires...and a completely different shaped plug. I guess i'm just confused as to what the OP is actually after?

 

The plug to the tps is black oval shape then goes to a grey connector. Then that grey connector connects to the male grey connector which has the black/yellow, pink/blue, green/white, and green/black. My question is which color wire the blue, pink, yellow, black connects to which wire the green/white, green/black, pink/blue, black/yellow? Attached is the original harness and how it was to look. I need to know what wires connected to what.

The right-hand side has the wire colors and position # (1, 2, 3, 4) where they terminate into the bloue box which is the connector. The grid 1/2/3/4 on the left of his picture is the wire connector itself, and where the 1-2-3-4 positions are in the connector. Those connectors often have a raised (but very tiny) number marking, either for the highest number pin, the lowest number pin, or all pins, so you can get your orientation correct.

 

My connector is pinned differently. My grid is numbered differently. Instead of grey connector oriented as in the grid above

Here are all sorts of angles and brightness levels of that connector.

 

So the tps black connector to the grey connector is pinned how? So the PIN numbers on the tps black female connector to the grey female end match the male grey connector like 1 to 1 2 to 2 3 to 3 4 to 4? Or is there another order?

If I'm not mistaken, given color differences of throttle body harness conductors are different from the truck side harness, he's needing to know what colors we see on black connector end (A), where they go pin wise at TB harness grey connector (B)

 

So are we trying to find how what position and color the wires are in this connector?

now does the pink/blue go to the black?
Does the green/white go to the blue

Okay I have one last question! I found these brackets/metal things in my bucket of parts that I found after cleaning up after my tundra repair, I have no idea what they went to. One is stamped with a R and one with a L

 

They look like part of something from the cowl or inner fender assembly. Did you happen to be working in either of those areas?

 

Hello, just curious on what the name of the gray 4 pin connector is? I need to replace it but can't find a new one cause I don't know what it's called.

Hey @Moonminer sorry I didn't see this.

The brackets you have there are for the armreset support on the rear doors. This is why they're marked L and R, for the respective sides. The bolt heads you see here correspond to the holes in the bottom of the parts in your pictures. The one bracket in your pics with a screw still in it, that faces up and is where the grab handle on the door plastics screws down.

Since that grey connector is just used to connect the sub harness to the main harness, a guy could just simply remove the connector from the equation and solder then heatshrink them together. But yeah, if there's a readily available replacement connector, i'd probably choose that option first.
