After only 3.66(repeating) years, I finally crossed off 100% of my to-do list on this house! But... only because it's officially SOLD.

Bittersweet to look back on everything we've done here thinking this was our "forever home" but work has forced me to relocate so we're on to the next adventure, and a whole new to-do list, in Northwest Arkansas!

Nice looking home. I've liked Arkansas when visiting and could see it being nice to live there. Good luck with your new job, home, and life there bud.

Think so. Waterproof, pet proof. Pretty sure material as our main floor wood. Not cheap.

Ya we ripped out the builder floor in 2020 and upgraded them. You could look at it, and it would scratch. Not a single scratch since.

I am installing about 5-600 sqft of the stuff this weekend. Seems relatively easy and I have a thermal/water barrier since its going in the basement. Did you do the install or hire it out?

I also have to do a engineered wood floor, probably in two weeks or less, which I am a lot more leery about and trying to find someone to hold my hand for the first few rows.

I put in almost 600 ft² of LVP myself and knocked it out in an evening. Not difficult at all IMO

encouraging! I have 15 pre-cast piers coming within an hour, and then I am going to start tackling it. I hope that I have even half the success you did.

It can be easy if you buy the right stuff. I would not recommend the smartcore brand from Lowes. It requires too much force on both the long ends and short ends to get it properly engaged. Sometimes damaging the fragile locking mechanism, or not engaging completely and you find it when you're 10 rows away. Whatever brand Home Depot sells looks way easier. Unsure if there's a waterproof or durability penalty for easy of install but it took me 3 weeks to do 1,200 sq ft (nights and weekends) of the smartcore xl, including tearout, and re-trimming/painting the shoe mold.

My back hurts just looking at this.

I spent one summer in my late teens working with a crew that did HVAC and sprinklers as a 2nd job to get extra skrilla. That was enough ditch digging for me for a lifetime. My half-century-old back would be bitching at me for a day or two after all that. Just climbing around between joists in a vaulted attic doing cable runs at my friend's new coffee shop left it hollering at me the other day.

I did install it myself. It's pretty easy if you get all the right tools. I can't remember the brand but I did buy it at lowes. Used a cork board layer below it to help with comfort when walking around the house barefoot. Definitely get yourself some knee pads if you already don't have a set.

I got some "dmx 2.0" or whatever for a thermal barrier/moisture break. I have some nice knee pads and I believe all the tools I needed. We don't have lowes, we have HD. I just moved around everything to get it ready as I am still waiting for the delivery guys to come 3 hours later.

    Got some of this:

Once this concrete guy shows, I will make a go at it and post some photos.

I remember thinking I was over my head when I started mine. It's a fairly simple and easy instal. That waterproof underlayement is fine and will add insulation. I also used something like this for both insulation and comfort. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Eco-Cor..._-318104245-_-5-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a

I got a hair up my butt to replace the toilets in the house. I got all 3 installed, 2 with bidets, but 1 has been leaking and started to rot the sub floor. That is a future me problem where I sealed things up the best I could until we are ready to tackle that project.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Concrete showed up and I can finally get over to attempt it.

Next project is 100% for me, and not our new work building. 32x16 deck, to support a permanent canvas wall tent, with room for a dinner table and some chairs. Gotta move everything across the river and up the hill and that will be a project in itself, and then actually build the deck and put the tent together. I am hoping to have it done by the second week of June, but that might be ambitious.

I feel your pain. I’ve been slowly working on our Master Shower. Right around the time our roof and gutters were being replaced, I noticed some water outside of the shower in our master bath. I figured it was time to add some silicone around the frame. I did that on the outside, climbed inside to do the interior and water squished up from the tile (I never use that shower so I didn’t know about it). I can’t afford to pay somebody to redo (after the roof and gutters replacements) so I’m tackling it on my own.
The shower was a shitty job and leaking all over the place. The sewer pipe was cracked on top which explains this random sewer smell we’d get. It’s a miracle there was no mold (house is from the late 1800’s, is pier and beam and has ballon rafters so I think the constant airflow saved our asses).
I’ll get around to adding pics and documenting it soon.

Yeah, I totally made it future Wade project. This is in our half bath, which gets used the most, and the plumbing is right over the supply line of the HVAC, so it's not going to be fun by any means. We're going to have to cut up the hardwood flooring and patch in a new subfloor. The wood was rotted and black, so a spray of Mold Guard and had a fan "dry" it out the best I could for now. But it's going to be eating away at me until I get around to doing it.

Surprisingly I was only a little sore, slept like a rock though. At 58 I'm good. But if there would have been any other way to get this done with a shorter run, or some other method I would have jumped at it.
