What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

those are nice looking wheels! I have always been partial to the bbs trd pro (had them on my 4 runner). But refuse to pay the amount of money that people are asking for them! Will definitely check these out

Nope I don’t drive a limited so I never looked.

 

Tossed on the Seat Jackers from Desert Does it. Good product, and really helps out the passenger seat as well. Had them on the Tacoma and I thought they were critical to the comfort there, less so in the Tundra but I like having the extra adjustment on the driver side.

 

I did them on mine, but I also took advantage of their fire extinguisher mount.

 

To prep for the OTT tune coming up this weekend, I stayed up way past my bedtime and knocked out the spark plugs, cleaned the MAF and throttle body, and pulled the EFI fuses to reset the ECM and give them a fresh slate. I also drained my oil separator, this is what 3500 miles on my NA 5.7 built up, maybe 1/4-1/3 cup. I remember there being a snippet of conversation in here about it.

Parts ordering continues- front shock package with custom valving and spring rates ordered. EGS needle bearing upgrade ordered since new axles go in.

Carbon hood and quick latches ordered. New limit straps, tabs and mounts ordered. Still need to order a few other things. But the parts pile for the full revamp continues. Kitchen pics to follow as things arrive.

 

Everything I've read and heard so far is positive. My only concern is the higher mileage of my truck, I'm at 225k. I'm mainly looking for transmission shift improvements, both with and without a trailer, and if possible, a few more MPG's, especially while towing. I'm not worried about more power (though I'm not going to complain )

 

Don’t get your hopes up on the mileage. The OTT turn didn’t change any of that for me. Only thing that’s improved that is gears. YMMV.

Well I can show the carbon fenders on the table when they arrive lol . The hoods shipping direct to the shop where the truck is. lol.

 

New cooler for the old man’s rig is ready. Trans cooler/blower heat exchanger combo. If this works as well as we think I’ll add one to mine.

 

That's still in the planning stage as well, not sure if I'm going to go 4.88's or 5.29's, but I'm not expecting a vast improvement off the tune.

 

Got a set of billet ABS guards from SDHQ and one sweet ass sticker

You should get a stack of them with what those guards cost lol.

 

Funny you say that, there was actually a second sticker in the package that I didn't see! I can spend hundreds of dollars on parts and be mostly excited about the stickers lol

@roxysdad, did you have to take off the steering wheel or just the trim? I’m debating if I should sew a cover or just replace with a 4Runner or Tacoma oem steering wheel?

 

That’s about the same amount mine collects but I’m supercharged. I haven’t heard of too many NA Tundras collecting much.

 

Yes you are correct that they are set differently for the Tundra lean. However, my driver side is still 1/2” lower than passenger and only netted 2” lift (23.5” and 24” hub to fenders).

 

I still have to measure mine but I'm definitely at the minimum lift height.

 

He took off the trim and air bag module so be sure to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before starting.I had the same thoughts after I received my stich cover steering wheel cover about just replacing the whole steering wheel but I'm going for it this weekend.....Sew baby sew
