RCI trans skid and cat guards...

    TransSkidPre1.HEIC.jpg

Cat guards are steel, so they are heavy...

    Skid is PC aluminum....

Cons: Pricey, add weight to the truck, must remove to service trans, probably adds a little bit of heat retention at the cats (not much but still a bit) and possibly trans temps at the pan and TC (I'm guessing at this not sure)... Shipping is expensive due to size and weight.

Pros: It provides theft protection and protection while off roading; protects against road grime, salts, and debris getting into your wiring (especially at the trans). Make sure you get good hardware from RCI, if not, grab your own before install. Some folks have said they did not get premium hardware. I did NOT have this problem. Install isn't too bad, and if you search RCI best install practices there's a thread w/numerous pages of info... Powder coating was well done (RCI is now doing that in house instead of sending the pieces out, so QC seems to have improved)!

    Trans skid is one piece

then (4) pieces of cat protection (can't have cat protection w/o the trans skid though)...

there is a small cross member piece (so 6 pieces total)!!

I have shields from a person no longer here. Similar in design to all of the cat shields for these vehicles.

My father-in-law just sent me these links this past weekend. I've been tracking the strap solution for a while but have more confidence in the shields, though I can see the straps being a good, lightweight option IF install was well thought out. I have not looked into the first link yet.

I use CatSecurity. They usually have sales around most holidays. They almost always have their items in stock so shipping is very fast.

I bought these, first weekend I had my Tundra at home some losers must've followed me home or been looking for a Tundra to steal the Cats. My cameras caught a guy looking under my truck, it was the fastest I've ever driven home in my F250 diesel from the grocery store, the guy was gone by the time I got home and after looking at the footage I realized the guy looked up, saw my cameras red light on (recording), he dipped his head and took off. I bought these shields and keep my Tundra in my hangar at the airport, I hate thieves.
These MillerCat shields are great though, fitment is perfect, they are very stout and its just a wise investment. DO NOT MISPLACE YOUR SECURITY BIT TIPS.... ask me how I know! I'll tell ya anyway, I added a Genuine coolers Transmission cooler and had to wait a week to install it because I misplaced the bits to take off the shields...MillerCat was great about replacing them and I was pleased that they wanted me to send the purchase order when I bought the shields, it shows they care about who gets the bits. It took me about 40 minutes to install them and I bought another set of MillerCats for my 2020 4runner too.

I'm just outside of Sacramento, shields are a must over here.

    Just outside of Dallas.
They got me 11/15/2021 in my work parking lot.
No one wants this drive of shame to the dealership.
They had my truck 8 months waiting on parts...

Yes, they were stealing cats in 2021 so I got the shields, but they quickly stopped and now just jacking people's rides, which is getting out of hands.
