I'm posting this from other toyota vehicles forums since I didn't get a response in a week.
I've searched the forums but couldn't find anything on this or just missed it so I will apologize in advance.

I replaced the skid module with a junkyard unit because the abs solenoid was off. After learning it is inside the skid module I swapped the junkyard one in. It works. The abs and brake lights went off. I had another spare unit I grabbed with the same part number to be safe. No matter which unit I plug in I get the C1340 open circuit center differential lock signal.

I had a spare translate ecu module and it changed nothing(same part number as well). Weird thing is every single part of the 4wd system works. 4 hi , 4 lo, diff lock engage/disengages. All indicator lights work perfect with no flashing.

My question is where does the center diff lock signal come from? Is it part of the transfer case shift actuator on this newer model?
There are no plugs anywhere else on the transfer case besides the speed sensor in the tail shaft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in adavance.

I don't know the answer to your question, but doesn't the 06 have the center diff lock button on the dash? Could the button or the wiring at the button be bad? Does yours have the the lights on the dash that show the 4 wheels and the transfer case?

Yes it does have the button on the dash. The newer models do not have the 4 wheels and the transfer case symbol like the 01-04's. It has the center diff light and 4hi/4lo lights. The crazy thing is 4hi/4lo center diff button, dash lights, everything work. I even swapped in a spare translate and 4wd ecu and still have the same code showing. I'm leaning towards a switch in the transfer case actuator not functioning or a ghost code Also think you so much for the response..

I apologize I have not posted an update on this I wound up selling the vehicle with the lights still illuminated code was still there everything function perfectly though I could lock and unlock the diff with the button but the code would remain my only conclusion is maybe something internally in the transfer case was causing this issue
