i'm installing an icon stage 2 lift which gives 3" lift for the front and 1.5" for the rear. i'm also installing the firestone airbags, and i thought i read somewhere when i was researching airbags that there needs to be 5" of clearance between the side of the tire and frame for the airbags so they don't rub on the tire sidewall. Of course i can't find where i read that now... if this is the case, has anyone installed the firestone bags and put bigger tires on? wondering what the max size tire would be and still have clearance. of course wheel offset will affect all of this, i am planning on 295/65/20 tires. or am i just mistaken and my mind went into information overload on one of my late night google searches

I have the airlift 5000 ultimate with cradles and 37x12.5 wildpeaks on +18 offset rims. No issues with clearance on this setup. Can't speak on the Firestone bags, but my setup works great20241105_112311.jpg

Considering where the bags sit under the frame, I think you’d be hard pressed to get the rear tires to rub on them without hitting the frame first. I understand there needs to be some clearance for mud and debris, but I don’t recall ever hearing of somebody destroying an airbag on these trucks because they didn’t have enough clearance on the back tires. I could be wrong, but I think you should be just fine.

Was the bolt to mount your cradle offset from the center of the cradle? I installed airlift bags but think I got Daystar cradles. When I went to install it appeared the Daystar cradle only has a mounting hole in the middle and it didn't align. Looking at the airlift cradle, it appears there are three holes (1 center and 2 offest) to chose from. I haven't lifted yet so I just installed it as normal without the cradle, but will be lifting it soon and want to make sure I didn't miss something.

I don't recall the mounting on the airlift cradle, but it does use the same mounting plate as if attaching the bag directly to the bottom axle. The pic I found of the plate looks like the bolt holes are inline front to back. Maybe I can find some time tomorrow to jack it up and take a look Screenshot_20250518_175307_Chrome.jpg
