I would have at least put a temporary turn-down on that were it mine. I'd be embarrassed to bring something like that in for someone to work on.

These are the experiments we like others to try so we never do that...Yowza! I'd throw a downturn tip on for $40 and feel a little more confident I'll make it without summoning Ghostrider!

Solid offroad mentioned that with just the poly engine mounts and new oem transmission mounts would be good for most people. The trans poly mount he made for the Tacomas were popular for the offroad racing. My offroad is mostly gravel logging roads. Not sure on a hp rating and they do transmitt a little extra drive train vibs at idle and low rpm cruise. It did feel more planted with both engine trans mounts.
With the engine mounts I felt some vibration but not real noticeable and it performed well. Some rides will feel a bit more or maybe more perceived like @helidave had.
The transmission mounts does make it more solid. I noticed I could feel the starter cranking and the firing up of the engine, the Lexus coils do offer some extra oomph. The vibe were a little more felt on the floor but only at idle and driving under 10mph. Some may feel it more. I like it and as solid offroad said that most don't need the trans mount for daily driving.

Thanks! I have no idea how I missed the thread about all of these mounts, especially with the recent traffic. I'm all caught up over there, now. I have a few messages in with him about trying to secure both. Trans mount could probably wait, but I have a narrow window of opportunity to get the engine mounts done during the swap, so I'm hoping there are some in stock. Knowing I'm headed for the 600/600 club, if not nearing the 700/700, and recognizing all of that flex is on a single downpipe in my case, this just makes sense. Fingers crossed my truck chooses to be in the "barely noticeable" category.

I have Solid Ofraod motor mounts, I did not feel any negative difference, the truck feels more connected off the line at wot.

I also had new OEM trans mounts installed at the same time.

Wow! What gets me is there are so many clamp on connectors for an exhaust system even for O2 bugs. I thought I Mcgivered jerryrigged some crap in my day but...that "just rolled in" is crazy.

As @e30cabrio said its not really perceptible. If I put my feet on the floorboard near the brake pedal I can feel it on startup and idle but it's light. Unless you got someone who gets in and says what did you do to your truck then you'll be good...:D

So what does a double flash of Hazards mean. I was behind a supra and I was getting sideways around a corner and we were both doing few pulls I was behind in single lane. I had to turn and he gave a double flash. Goodbye, thanks or?

Multi flash is usually an "I won". A double flash would mean, I see you or thanks for playing around.

    Props!

Are they really necessary if you’re not jumping the truck, meh probably not. I got them on a group buy because I can rarely say no to a group buy. Hard to say if I would do them again, but I guess the peace of mind knowing the engine isn’t going to rip out of some dry rotted old rubber mounts is nice.

Mine doesn’t feel “rough” but is definitely noticeable with solid prospeed motor mounts, SDHQ traction bars, Load D tires, Dobinsons 2” lift. The contrast is most obvious when I drive the truck to go do something then immediately get in the FJ/4 Runner you would think the FJ/4runners are Cadillacs. Its like if you’ve ever worn boots with metal or solid plastic shanks how they don’t flex and you feel every little rock.

Everyone that drives in the truck though comments on how solid/planted it feels when you give it the beans, they bring it up surprised. Pre solid motor mounts the truck that much torque kind of flops around.

Whatever this forum told me to do
Carnac the great reading the closed envelope. — because we thought you couldn’t be that dumb

The envelope- we thought you knew , if you just push tow/haul button you can change the pedal position % just enough to make it match your PE threshold. So you don’t run 6psi without PE.

But PE is based on throttle position, why would the amount of boost vs PE change? You might have to push the throttle pedal a different amount to reach PE, but the power/airflow/throttle position is still going to be the same when PE activates.

ie PE has nothing to do with throttle sensitivity.
