Got told by a doctor today that I shouldn't be looking for the cause of my trouble, I should just be treating the symptoms. FFS.

I'm not sure what's worse. Some white trash woman licking her glass to apply salt to a glass. Or a doctor who doesn't want to heal a patient. I'll go with humanity is fcuked for $1000 Alex.

Is he saying the cause is untreatable so just go after the symptoms? Or that's it's not worth finding the cause?
If it's the latter, I'd find a new doctor.

It's a problem that's hard to find (spinal CSF leak). It'll be a new doctor. It's also fairly uncommon, so the new doctor is also going to be hard to find.

Maybe if everyone was in their 20s; but it was all a fully adult crew. None of us needed any cooties (any more than we already have, at least...).

Not the VA. While I'm whining, if nobody's experienced UT Southwestern Medical Center; all the better doctors leave, and the staff are largely unaccommodating. It's not my favorite place.

There's a back injury thread. Might get some advice in there or a lead on a new doc.

Thanks. It's not a back injury, though; and requires a neurologist. I've browsed reddit for information, and there's some decent info there - along with folks who have way worse symptoms than me. A bit depressing to see how it's hobbled some folks.

Well, they go into a lot of stuff related to the spine, and many of those injuries require neurologists.

That sucks, finding a good doctor for an uncommon condition can be a pain. Are you close to Rice?
A company I used to work for had global HQ in Houston and used them for major medical issues. I never had to go but several coworkers did with great results.
Best of luck, spine issues suck.

    Yes

    No, but good guess

I knew you would say that…

But nope… it’s a mount for a signal booster. So the TPMS system on my trailer tires can reach the cab of the truck.IMG_6075.jpg IMG_6079.jpg
