New monthly client. Not horrible to start with. He had a lot of paint splatter on his hood, I went ahead and polished out for him, along with the entire hood - no charge for the polish since he’s now a monthly client and little things go a long way, like doing the engine bay too

@briarpatch Is there any need to "top" Jescar Ultralock+? I usually end with griots 3 in 1 ceramic. Thanks!

At the initial application.....no....unless you prefer the look of a standard wax......and I've used Colorlock for that. As for your maintenance routine, I typically top it with Armour Detail Amplify.....prolongs the protection, maintains the gloss and slickness

Any recommendations for a flexible pressure washer hose? I have this inner struggle where I want to use a pressure washer at times but always end up getting pissed off because the damn hose is so stiff and gets caught on everything.

Anyone know of a product and/or detailing trick that will restore the black vinyl trim on the B pillars? I understand this is removable and fairly inexpensive to buy replacement vinyl, but I have stick-on rain guards that have been applied (partially) on top of this so I'd rather not have to deal with that issue if there's a way to treat the vinyl. It's faded and spotted and just looks bad, whereas the rest of the actual plastic anywhere on the truck still looks fantastic and makes that vinyl trim stick out even more. It's a 2020 SR5 Crewmax fyi.

What color is your truck? Consider removing them all together since they're painted underneath the same color as your truck?

But his rain guards are attached over the top. So he would have to cut or trim the piece trapped or fully remove the rain guards (which he doesn't seem to want to do or he would probably just get new vinyl to wrap the pillar).

I personally like having the pillar black so I hope he finds a way to get his clean.

I wasn't paying attention to that detail enough. Good point.

uberflex is flexible but isn't reinforced and can cause surging. Kobrajet is reinforced but a bit more pricey.

The truck is Silver Sky Metallic (I believe that's the name of the silver colour that year?). And yes, Rob D explained it - I would just remove and replace the vinyl if the rain guards weren't stuck on top. I am considering buying replacement vinyl and cutting the new pieces so they fit around the rain guards, but what are the chances I can make that look as good as factory and not mess it up? Was hoping there was a product to 'revive' the vinyl, even if were a 'temporary' solution. If I had been on top of things better I'd have bought some replacement vinyl and done that at the same time as the rain-guards - I just wasn't expecting the appearance of the factory vinyl to deteriorate so fast over the course of the past winter/spring - before that it was holding up reasonably well.

I bought a bottle of Adam's Graphene ceramic spray, and the first time I used it I was less than impressed. However, I believe that was due to user error, as I was using too much product. Now that I've figured it out, I really like the stuff and it gives a great shine. I did my truck and the wife's car after clay bar, and I really am impressed with the stuff. But I have to ask, is this stuff really worth the price or is it just upscale detail spray? I realize it's no substitution for a real ceramic coating, but it's highly unlikely I'd ever apply one to an 18 y/o truck. Who can fill me in on this spray stuff and maybe make a recommendation for other products. Thanks

It’s good for maybe 6 months with proper maintenance washing.
Their actual graphene dressing will get you multiple years on it, with proper wash care and presuming it’s not stuck in shit weather all day. Be sure to polish before you apply. You could prob skip a clay bar since a buff and polish would get it out anyway
