We have the 1911 Lovers thread going but I didn't see anything on 2011's...

I'm thinking about picking one up at some point this year. I definitely need to do a bit more research and handle/rent a few first.

Who here has one? Make/model, likes/dislikes?

My short list is a DWX compact/railed or a Platypus Commander:

So I did a little bit of research on them before and decided on the Platypus. That said, life got in the way and I havent pursued it yet.

I definitely like the customization options of the Platypus. The one above is how I would build it; pretty tame compared to some of the ones I've seen.

I watched a guy trade in a Staccado P for the DWX on Monday. He had shot a buddies and was sold.

I've been on the fence about getting one. I tried my friends SA Prodigy, Kimber 2K11, and custom Staccato. The custom Staccato was the nicest of the 3 but also the most expensive at $4500. Next nicest is the Kimber then SA. The DWX is another one I'm considering but haven't handled one yet.

A guy I know... was looking at the SA Prodigy. He... was told it's a good entry-level 2011, so long as you don't use the supplied magazines.

Still looking around but I'm really liking the DWXc more and more...

But, as much as I love it, Im not sure I could justify keeping the ECO (3.5" Officers 1911 9mm) with the addition of the DWXc (4" 2011 9mm)...

Im.also still looking for a Specialist 9mm, preferably a Commander, and I know that as soon as I buy a DWX, a Specialist will become available that I'll miss out on.

    Decisions decisions...

Whatever this forum told me to do
The staccato P is nasty good

the CZ shadow 2 is almost as nice

Sad to say I really like the grip of the cz better

    but the staccato overall

This is my 3.5" Springfield Prodigy. So far I have almost 2k through it. It's a fantastic shooter, and the stock magazines work perfectly. I also have the 4.25" version as well. I highly recommend either one.

Right, I like the options Stealth Arms offers.

Im negotiating a deal om a DWXc right now... it's a OR/railed version. Im not sure I'll put an optic on this gun, but the price is soooo good. I said if I don't find something.by Friday ill pull the trigger.
