    Hey Folks.
I have a 2007 Crewmax 5.7L that has a Cat code. Truck runs perfectly. Inspection due due soon.
OEM converters are $8000, $4000 aftermarket parts only. Seems absurd to spend half a vehicle's value, just to turn off a light on the dash.

Has anyone purchased one on eBay - they are around 300 for both sides. The question is - even though they won't sell to NY, CO and CA addresses, do that mean they won't pass inspection in those states?

Second part to the question: Anyone have any advice other than dumping a truckload of cash at the (not really a real) problem?

These trucks do not like most aftermarket cats.

What T234 said, I'd start with defoulers, then 02 sensors.

    Hope that works.
