Has anyone had any luck relocating the data USB port from below/next to the radio? Preferably to the center console? Doesn’t really make much sense to have it where it currently is. I’m not a fan of wireless CarPlay as it causes my phone to heat up and also drains my battery; not to mention the bit of lag created.

I tried searching but could only find where someone removed that Data USB, left it behind the dash, but ran it to some mirroring unit in the center console.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
I am going to do this. Below is a video somewhere that I watched.

In the video it showed that you can remove it from the dash easily. What you end up is a cable with a usb A connector. Get an extension cable and run it anywhere you want. You are going to have a big hole where it was on the dash but you can pick up some USB plugs for cheap an Amazon.

Here is a good video on a Tundra that goes through moving the USB to hide a Binize box and deals with moving the USB.

I must have been having a brain fart. I didn’t even think to just run an extension. I was thinking something completely different and much more difficult. Lol.

Since you’re planning on doing this, you haven’t by chance ran across any type of extension that has the female ISB A that can be snapped into a hole to make it look more finished?
