Ironman Raid front bumper

I drilled 1/2 inch holes in the top plate and then put a stainless bolt through it with loctite and a lock washer and fender washer. There is enough clearance to pull the 1 inch long bolt out after you loosen it.

 

There is some wiggle but not much. its 1/4 inch cold rolled steel so its pretty solid. I haven't taken it out to drive it yet. I thought about welding a few tabs on the front and putting a rivnut in to the tube steel of the bumper to attach with a bolt. Still an option if they move too much.

 

Thanks! PLEASE refresh my memory. Don’t you have to remove the top side plates first to access the nuts under the center top plate, since the center plate nuts are inaccessible once the bumper is mounted? I seem to remember, after mounting the bumper, having to install the center plate first (actually using duct tape to hold the nuts in place while screwing down the bolts), then installing the side plates.

 

When I installed my bumper I didnt remove any of the plates. I left them installed and bolted up the bumper. With this design you can reach the bolts holding the lighting cross bar with an 12 inch long extension just fine.
