I have a 2001 Tundra Limited 4x2, rear dif has finally gone and i am in need a Third Member or finding out what to replace and fix so i can have her driving again.

I believe the gear ratio is 3.91, i've looked into doing a more modern swap into the 2014 tundra rear ends with disk brakes but being a the hawaii budget doesnt leave many options.

ive seen pricing for brebuilt and remanufactured third members but as the truck doesnt drive because the rear dif i am open to options and buying a new one.Mahalo

Can't find any, checked multiple places with either no response or in stock. Plus id have to figure out how to get it home, kinda hard to transport that with only a bike.

Time to buy another 1st gen, so you can go to the junkyard and get parts to fix your other 1st gen. Then you're blessed with double the 1st gen, double the fun.

Have you already diagnosed what failed in your third? Is the rest of the axle housing and components good otherwise?
