Speaking of plugs, it's a little spooky torquing to the specified 156 in-lbs (13 ft-lbs). I always follow torque specs, but these made me glad I have a good spark plug socket and digital torque wrench. The torque wrench was kind of expensive, and I haven't been able to justify it until this job. But worth every penny.

    FTFY.

We were so close to cracking down on counterfeiting in 2022-2023. INFORM, SHOP SAFE, etc. all being put out there. Still pisses me off this is such a substantial problem.

I go by hand-feel. I'd never trust my torque wrench to get it right. The cost of munging/mangling your threads isn't worth it.

I just ordered new plugs from the dealer. Itll be my first spark plug change that ive done since owning the truck. I had it done when i first bought the truck about 40k miles ago.

Bought them to have on hand when I do try to change them, but i believe its recommended every 30k approximately?

Well i guess i have some time until I have to try doing spark plugs. Ive never done them and always hear how sketchy it could be if you mess something up. A recent video I watched said to go hand tight and then a 1/4 turn to get it snug. Or 13 ft/lbs but I dont know If id trust my torque wrench to click in time before I over tighten!

It's very easy. I wouldn't attempt to torque with a clicker type wrench because you're correct, sometimes you can't feel it "click" at low torque. I have a digital that is audible and vibrates.

Change interval depends on the plugs used. Coppers would be 25-30k mile intervals. Iridium and Platinum would be 60-100k

Just call me “Baby Billy” as in Billy 5100/OME 2883. Installed, aligned…. And test driven. First off…. I love it! At first I didn’t think the ride quality had improved that much, but the more I drove it …. I realized how much nicer it was in areas that I had driven previous. I’d say ride quality improved 40% give or take…. Which is better than what I was expecting actually. Handled great on the highway…. Buttery smooth which it wasn’t bad on the highway to begin with. All and all…. Very happy! Thx guys for all your input …. Here are some pics. (BTW…. I took some rough measurements and came up with like a .5 inch squat. That may settle after a while, if not, it still looks good to me.

My LCA bushing on the passenger side is shot but for now I don’t think spending another thousand (did I spell that right??) is on my horizon…..lolIMG_2169.jpg IMG_2170.jpg IMG_2171.jpg IMG_2172.jpg

Not sure what was installed in mine when I had the plugs done, so guess I might be giving that a go soon with the new Denso plugs I just bought

If you're not planning to replace your sway bar end links with extended ones, I modded my stock by adding some washers under the bushing stack (arrow and lines) to correct the angle from lifting. You can see how many threads you have available at the top here (circle).

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
When I rebuilt my rockers I put some commercial 3M step grip on there. One thing I've noticed (that mine does not have) while shopping these trucks and looking at other people's pictures is the brutal dents in a LOT of the inner rockers from the seatbelt buckle being SLAMMED in there because it didn't retract

Damn! Beat me to it

    Two things:
    1. Looks like the 2883 did you right, I presume they're gonna settle a little bit more and should have you just shy of level. It looks a little high up front to me in your last pic, but it may be optical illusion. Great stance. Would look killer with some similarly meaty A/T in 265/70r17 tires to give you an extra inch of diameter, but those KO2 you have there look damn near brand new.
    2. The lower bushing on the swaybar link I just quoted from KNABORES looks overcompressed. I feel like you may want/need to back off 2 full threads on that top nut. But it may be because it's also not sitting in the pocket of the cup washer under it properly. Either way, you need to loosen that top nut, center the bushing in the cup washer, then tighten it down to where it's barely engaging, which will probably be right about 2-4 threads exposed up top.

Was gonna back them off but those bushings are shot, that’s probably why they look so over compressed. Driver side has some give to it but the passenger side is toast. Is there a particular brand of bushing or for that matter any advice on extended sway bar links? They don’t appear to be too expensive. UPDATE: Ordered Suspension Maxx

OEM rubber is better than most aftermarket replacements. Suspension Maxx makes regular and extended length sway bar end links for these trucks. I’m running a set of them now after swapping my homemade “extended” ones out.

Old pic. Was part of my front end rebuild recently. Lots of sadness in those old pics.
