Yeah, pretty much. I’ll turn 70 this year and old injuries plus arthritis are taking their toll. The farm takes a bit too.

 

Scamazon is fucking garbage.

Placed two orders to two different addresses. One is my home address and one is my employers warehouse because I didn't want that item sitting out in the weather and wanted it to be signed for.

It was shipped via scamazon's own delivery service and they whiffed it on both.

The one to my address was dropped off who the fuck knows where with the pic for proof of delivery being some random house that I've never seen before.





The real piss off is the one to my employers warehouse. The delivery instructions clearly state that deliveries are only taken between 0700 and 1530. They say they delivered it at 1735 which is bullshit because nobody is there at that hour. Then look who they say signed for it.




I hope Bezos trips down the up side of an escalator and hits his dick on every step on the way down.

 

What did the Crackhouse end up getting?

 

A console tray and a cover for the gear shift area in the truck. Cheap stuff, but it's still a PITA. The one that was "signed for by man" at my work is my younger brother's birthday gift.

My last triple is usually a couple hours before bed, or I end up w/headaches... I know, I know the whole addiction thing and all

 

I completely respect your different lifestyle, but is there one reason you can share with us as to why you prefer to sleep during the day, and to stay up at night?

 

I don't get it, I can't stand the smell of coffee and never drank it..
But she is at least a 2 cup minimum every morning..

 

This is my life....

So I swapped the Gen 1 Nest Thermostat (that we've had for years) with the new Gen 4 Nest.
I previously posted why.

The next couple of days, the house seemed warmer despite my programming the same schedule.
I told the warden/wife, 'Let's give it a few days to learn.'
It is a learning thermostat.

Then I showed her the 2 options;
The Gen 4 Nest (top) or the Ecobee Premium (bottom).



She said the Ecobee Premium is ugly, we're keeping the Nest.
After a few days, the Nest acclimated and the house felt just like it did with the Gen 1 Nest...

 

My entire adult life (post HS gradutation on) I've worked a late swing shift or graveyard type schedule. I tried a few times during various phases of training (forced on to a dayshift rotation) and a few times for a month or so here and there to work dayshift, but the result is always the same. It doesn't matter how much I sleep at night (cuz I will generally sleep well), but when I wake up to an alarm clock or even on my own before about 1600 hours, I'm freakin' tired, groggy and grumpy ALL DAY...

It kinda sucks, and I've tried to switch over at various stages of my life (even post-retirement)... After we retired, I gave it a 6 month go cuz there's really nothing going on here after 8pm, but still had the same results. So, I don't fight it. I go to bed at about 0800 and wake up sometime between out 1530 and 1830 hours most days (no alarm) and feel great throughout the night.

It definitely makes socializing and traveling difficult. Usually have to pay for an extra night or two of hotel and burn an extra 2 days of vacation to accommodate travelling at night. So, when we stayed in San Diego for a month each year while working, we'd leave home at about 6pm and arrive around 11pm to midnight and checkin. Hit a late night taco stand, night time beach walks, and in bed around 0700ish. Up at about 3pm and off to do vacation stuff, and repeat.... When it's time to check out, we'd stay an extra day, sleep all day, up in the evening, dinner, beach, etc. pack and leave around midnight to head home...

We did the same thing when using a travel trailer...

 

We have just started calling it Radio Shack cuz that’s all it is good for anymore.

 

Wish I had a cool reason; like it's easier to go out and do some Dexter type shit late at night and rid the world of scum, but it's just me being me and no longer trying to fight it or be 'normal'...

 

Nope.... Radio Shack used to have knowledgable employees!!!
