Bed Removal, and found these...

Welp, I removed my bed this morning, (2004 Tundra Access Cab) and found 2 of these on the driveway. I've been looking online for a diagram, but nada. Any idea where they go?

Those go towards the rear and are little spacers that sit between the bed and the frame. I removed my bed last weekend and left one of mine off because I was having trouble with it staying in place while I dropped the bed down.

 

Man... might you have any photo avail? I've been looking and looking on the frame line, but can't see the location.

I'm afraid I don't. They sit very close to the rear-most bolt hole. They point upward. Hopefully that helps a little.
If you can take a pic of your frame where that bolt hole is I can try and point it out. I don't think they're really necessary because my new bed didn't have them.

I gotta be blind as a bat... I can't see how these things fit between the bed and the frame! I looked at both front and rear bolts, all of these areas seem paper thin tight... Crazy stuff.

 

There should be a hole on top of the frame in the area I circled in red. That's the end of the frame right?

 

I always get a little jealous when I see all of these perfectly rust free frames

 

I jacked up the bed, looked between the frame. No hole besides the bolt hole, and one that when I put the damn spacer into it, it makes the bed sit 1/4 too tall. I'm about to just bolt her up. I can't see these being urgent...

Does it have a part number on the bottom? Even the plastic/rubber bits on a Toyota often have a part number somewhere. I found another mystery piece of rubber in my skid plate. Could not see where it came from. Then found a part number on it once I cleaned it up. That helped me find where it came from. Job done.

 

Agree and when it's come up before no reason was ever determined.

The below pic is from an 04-06 LSC for CRC that came out in 2013.

Whether at EPC or even Partsoug that I prefer, they both show driver side, fnt and back as the below drawing shows.

 

The tapered locating dome dowls are exactly that, for locating the bed on the frame. There’s only two of them, and they’re both located on the driver side of the frame. Put’em back into place in order to help facilitate reinstalling the bed on the frame.

Ah... drivers side only! I do see these holes. WTF! Thanks for the info guys. I was able to easily align the bolts without them, but may put them back because I'm anal. Sweet, thanks!!!

 

I’m kinda suspecting they do two things. Obviously they make it super easy to line up the bed bolts in order to thread them into the frame. Perhaps since they’re only located on the left side, is that they slightly keep the bed elevated off the frame (if they aren’t indexed properly) so that the main wire harness doesn’t get crushed while trying to located the bed onto the frame? Just a theory there.

That’s more than I thought. I thought mine fell off the passenger side. Thanks @whodatschrome for the insight and straightening mine out. I could swear it was on both sides. Sorry for the confusion OP. That explains why I left one side out.

I found one of those in my yard a while back. It must have been from when I replaced the bed on my 2006 RCLB. Never had any problem without it so I don't think I'll remove the bed to find a home for it.

 

Both of mine fell off, but the holes are there on the drivers side.
