Well there's that... but the sun is going to go NOVA sooner or later and those not already dead from other causes will die in a fiery inferno as the planet gets blasted to bits. *shrug*

    Y'all are Killing Me!!!
Rode Bikes pretty much all my life!!
Started out on a Yamaha GT 80 that could barely get out of it's own way.
    Went to a YZ80 that I loved!!
Then came the FZ750 Genesis....Man would that thing would FLY!!
And last but not least a Yamaha Warrior.
    I loved that thing!!
Installed the Tricky Air unit that would let you Slam it to the point your tire would almost rub the fender and then air it back up with a push of a button.
I'd really like to get another Motorcycle but the the Wife would have kittens If I did!!
She'd spout the same Shit She did when I got my last Motorcycle...You're getting too old to ride a Motorcycle!!!
    Bullocks!!!
And She'd really Freak out if I wanted another Crotch Rocket!!!
Going to have to settle for the Polaris General 1000.
Which is pretty damn fast itself considering it has the same engine as the Razor.

I want to back up @JohnF4x4 on this one, just without the wishing for death gloom and doom.
And @GODZILLA you did say "a liter bike is way too much for a beginner."
    This, exactly this.
OP is not only a beginner, but has NEVER ridden before.

I don't care who you are, or how much of an exception to the rule you might be, or think you are, a liter bike as a first bike is a BAD IDEA.

Sure it is. As soon as someone that has never ridden a motorcycle says "I know I want a liter bike" you know they're someone who doesn't even know what they don't know. But at least he said he was going to take classes. An instructor has a better chance of getting him to correct course a wee bit.

True and fair enough. Hopefully that happens before he puts the money down.

Figured you've all shown me yours, time to show you mine:
'15 Kawi Versys 1000 aka, the Orange Dreamsicle.

    Kawright.jpg

Bought it in 2018 from a BMW dealer in St. Louis with 1200 miles on it.
Dude had traded it in on a new Beemer. Apparently this wasn't luxe enough for him.
He must have lost his ass on the trade deal because this thing was seriously cheap.

I have the hard bags for it also when wifey and I road trip.

Put a taller windscreen on it, a Kawi radiator screen/guard, a c/f fender-extender, a Delkevic slip on for a little bark and aesthetic improvement and some lighting.

    Damn!!
    That Sucks!!
We've been really Lucky here living on the Texas Gulf Coast.
While we've had some minor damage, the worst being needing a new roof,we've dodged a lot of bullets.

I have lived through a lot of hurricanes but never want to experience another flood. Horrible!

Can't imagine the extent of the mess based on all that mud.
Did you do OK on insurance? Replace the bike?

    I can imagine!!
We've never had water that deep.
The worst was when it got over the curb and into the yard a bit.
Living in a relatively new development the drainage is pretty good.
Caught a Guy blowing his grass trimmings into the gutter and went off on him!!!
He was new to the Gulf Coast but still, what kind of person is so lazy he cant bag his grass clippings?
You'll get a pretty hefty fine if they catch you doing it!!

That hurts my heart to look at. Floods are the worst. Nothing is safe from one. I hope you were able to be made at least mostly whole after all that. :(

I'm going to go out at give mine a tender pat on the gas tank and count my lucky stars.

After a little battle insurance did give me some money for the bike. They originally denied me until they realized their mistake. Of course not as much as I had in it but I did get some. Used the money to replace things I didn’t get any compensation for. So still no moto. I do have an atv however. Not the same but still fun

Thanks, yeah it was a fun machine. As you know!
I keep saying I’m done but after decades of riding it’s hard to be without one. So I’m sure one day I will have another

Here’s my 2002 V-Max. Bought it new and still ride the beast but less frequently since it’s too difficult to ride it to work daily. A few years after buying it I was on the way to work from that house where I took the photo (moved since then) and a deer jumped out in front of me at over 50mph and hit me, not the bike. One of his antlers, still in velvet, hit my left chest and arm, leaving quarter sized bruises. Mr. Max and I did a dance down the road and the only injury was to the ball of my right foot on the side. The bike landed on my foot as we slid down the pavement and it wore through the leather of my motorcycle boot and took off skin right to the bone. My helmet had three distinct impact scrapes in three different directions and the face shield broke on one hinge. I ended up on the shoulder of the road and was knocked out momentarily. I woke to the sound of car doors and when I stood up, I shook my head to get all the dirt and rocks out of my helmet. Had I not been wearing all the gear, full face helmet, motorcycle jacket and pants, gloves, etc., especially the helmet, I may not be here today. The helmet, jacket, pants, and boots were trashed. The bike was almost completely totaled except for the engine and some miscellaneous parts. But strangely my insurance company gave me the choice of getting a new bike or rebuilding mine. I opted for the rebuild. Lesson learned: All The Gear All The Time. My youngest daughter grew up with Mr. Max and now has her own bike, the blue R3, and rides more than I do.
