Please help, the plastic under the gear shift has twisted and it is so annoying. It gets caught and we have to force the shift to park and sometimes the key won’t come out. I need to smooth it out but I can’t figure out how. I’ve seen how to remove the plastic cover but not how to remove the hard plastic plate so I can’t tell if that’s permanent or not.

I wonder if you could remover the plastic piece after taking off the shifter console and reform that piece with a heat gun on a flat surface

See this thread that shows where to pry up and remove the console piece around shifter knob. Then you should be able to look at the piece that is messed up to see what can be done. https://www.tundras.com/threads/removal-of-shifter-trim.24458/

So I got the top pieces off but can’t figure out how to take the clear plastic piece off without cracking it. One side has clips but not the side closest to the driver seat (and I did crack it a little trying)….and I can see that one of the black plastic sheets is ripped…any clue what that is called so I can order a new one? I’ve literally never worked on a car before so I’m winging it here

My guess is food or drink spills caused it to stick. Only way to fix is new part.
