It'll suck for a bit, but you'll be so much better off in the long run.

    That's a helluva a gift
I've bought 5 so I know what cost. Worth it though.

You ever land a fish on a fly rod? There’s really only one thing better and that’s recoil.

I was fishing from a dock today. Just messing around at a trout pond, warming up my casting arm since the ice finally all melted.

I love my TFO rods. I have two 5wt, a 3wt and a 8wt. I have another 5wt made by St Croix that I really like too.

Did you go fishing or shooting?

I can think of a bunch of things. Mainly running class four and five rapids in a remote canyon. Bonus is that at the bottom of every rapid, I can fish a beer out of my cooler on my first cast. Way more anexiety, fun and adrenaline for my blood than casting all day waiting for a strike.

I hit a 4 in my skiff, some of the guides on the green asked where I buy my pants. The trip I want to do is the Grand Canyon in a dory, I think the final rapid is like lava falls or hells falls or some shit. But it’s an 18 day 8000$ trip so it’ll never happen

    That's solid in a skiff!

I'm going down the grand again this fall. If you snag a private trip it's closer to $2300 per person and 25 days. And that's if you bring a lot of party favors and alcohol. No drinking folks are easily in the $17/$1800 range for food/permit fees and consumables.

In my post above, the rapid is Tappan Falls on The MFS, which is said to be an amazing fishing run. But I wouldn't know because I don't fish. The beach photo is from the grand.

And yes. Lava Falls is the biggest hit on the grand but below it there are more rapids that can easily flip you if you're not on the right line. In reality, the last rapid is killer fang falls.

This is my line in Lava on my last run in July 2021.

We had a mid forties high and I'm fine with it. All this snow is about to be runoff in the next few weeks.

When I was a kid we used to go do gates of lodore and split mountain in the spring during run off. We did the back a few times too. I don’t have anyone to raft with now

Edit: probably have a few spots open for a 5/20 westwater canyon run.

So, original plan with the new truck was to get the TRD cast aluminum running boards for it and give @VelcrowKnight the black dual step running boards that mine came with.

Holy sheet is Toyota proud of the TRD boards! :eek2:

I'll have to keep an eye on the BST section and on the classifieds for take offs. Nuts that they are that expensive.

For that price you could put on some real sliders.
