Sunk it and left it overnight. Gave it bad gas. Just overall treated it like a dog.
Hello fellow Toyota enjoyers. That is all. ALSO if any of you have any information leading to the possible acquisition of an older Leer or A.R.E. bed cap for the 1st gen long bed...preferably one that is white to match my truck...feel free to help a brother out...Id like to attempt building a camping rig. The truck hero high wedge from A.R.E is on my wishlist as well but not in my budget yet (I got inspired by a couple users from this forum)

Mobile, born and raised...trying to make the move to Foley or Loxley though...Most of the properties I'm working at are in Gulf Shores. The 1:30 to 2:30 hour drive (depending on the bay way) gets old.

    Welcome.

She needs a bath. Not your dog, wife, girlfriend (don't tell the wife), kid, or mother in law..... although any one of them is suspect.

Let's see that white LBRC, shine. Polish them there headlamps while you're at it.

Then come by and wash mine. All this green stuff is annoying.

The turtle wax is soaking as we text....and that pic is of her after nearly a year sitting under an oak...long story short, I bought it in 2020 for $12k at 56k and put 20k on in within a year for work...made enough mula to retire the unicorn and get a new work truck...been thinking of what kind of retirement she deserves. Came across this happening place looking at bed caps and decided on a camping rig build....also seems like she's been on the gulf coast her entire life so the only frame rust ive seen is surface level... The engine bay needs the most attention imo. It got new fuel injectors and a new fuel pump about 500 miles ago (currently at 76487) because the government cans they sell now SUCK at storing ethanol cut fuel. Other than that ive just done the routine stuff...Id like to do a tear down and inspection around 100k...really get in those guts and make sure everythings...tight...might also get some longer headers while im back there...any other worthy suggestions to make this turd bulletproof are welcome.

Not to my knowledge, seems to be an necessary replacement though...at what mileage should I be trying to do that? Also, I was hearing a light ticking last time I cold started. Could be an exhaust leak...maybe that tear down happens now at 76k...it sat for about a year and half uncranked after a year of daily hauling...spend now save later I hope

Timing belt is due every 90k miles or 9 YEARS, to which yours would be 11 years overdue. It's made of rubber which ages, dries, becomes brittle and cracks over time. When it fails on these motors, it more often than not causes damage due to interference between pistons and valves. Instant motor death. Not worth ignoring. The ticking could be exhaust manifolds. They are notorious for cracking at the flange to tube section and giving the ticking noise.
