I got one 5160 on today.
I'll say it again- Frikkin' brine.
Tried the nut breaker first. That just mangled the top nut, and flared the anvil in the nut breaker.
Switched to the air chisel. That smooshed the mangled nut, and spun it round and round, and beat up the chisel blade.
Got out the Dremel and went through a half dozen little cutoff wheels.
The other shock can wait 'till tomorrow.

    Frikkin brine....:censored:

Installed my new Land Cruiser Blower Motor today. It definitely feels like it is blowing more air, but it sounds louder to me.
Could be because it's blowing more air... maybe...

    Tastefully enhanced...
It is louder due to the additional air...the ducts on the LC are a bit "bigger" (more volume) which helps reduce the velocity and sound a bit...on full blast on the floor in my truck, I have a high pitch sound of air freedom...I just turn the tunes up a bit more and smile at the upgrade!

If they don’t, those square plastic license plate screw backers at any auto parts store work well.

Ran into a fellow forum member over the weekend. Just now posting a pic from that encounter. It was dark so not really able to see his rig's wrap but man it's nice - one side is the US Constitution and the other is TX themed (Alamo, etc). Badass grill from Royalty Core too

Maybe he will post a pic of it now that I've called him out @jamesonellistx

How’re those pads holding up? The couple we’ve put on customers cars have squeaked in the morning, but once they warm up they’re quiet.

Zero noise. I even used the gunk they send with the pads. Usually skip that part. They didn't send enough so I used Never Seez on what I needed

I ordered the hood bulge and grille from Fred Anderson about 3 weeks ago and it still hasn’t shipped. I’ve never ordered from them so is that normal or should I contact them?

I've noticed if you order towards the end of one of their 25% off sales that it can take a couple weeks to get. Can't hurt to send a friendly email asking for a status update though.

Cleaned up and polished my shifter mechanism. There was also some nasty gunk in the slide that you can only see in the Drive position.

I also changed to the trd knob. Finally I sprayed the cup holder trim black since it was all scratched and...... I hate it. Anyone have a mint condition chrome one that you want to get rid of?

Some de-chromed folks have painted matte clear over that glossy panel and they love it. I have the same problem with the cupholder trim - there are aftermarket parts you might like. I like the factory look, and may try Cerakote next.

Yeah I like the factory look too. I think the prior owner used metal water bottles because it was also chipped, cerakote wouldn't have helped completely.. I figured a free coat of paint would make it look better but I am not a fan. I know I won't like the after market options either. If I can't find a clean one here or ebay I may spring up for a dealer replacement.

Doesn't necessarily have to be because of abuse, and if you intend to paint the new one this might influence what you do next - - I'm pretty careful with mine and it still chips off. Nothing's really going to stick to that chrome very well. I tried to research ways to chemically remove it prior to my de-chroming project, but the cupholder trim and the chrome ring around the start button get enough soft traffic that it doesn't matter how careful one is.

Check the build link in my signature.
The MESO trim that Steven linked is more like the factory trim than the AJT ones. Not exactly the same, but doesn’t have the bolt head look.

Got the second 5160 on today with much less swearing than yesterday (frikkin' brine)
Took it for a little ride out of town to listen for any unusual clunks or noises.
It's probably too soon to make a snap judgement, but I'm not sure if I like them. They seem much more bouncy than what I had on there. The best way I can describe it is like the difference when you go to the dump with a quarter ton in the bed, and then drive home empty.
I'm not on board 100% yet.

I usually have that problem. Get a regular disk grinder. It’s a lot faster than a dremel. I know from experience.
