Yes, you fucker! Should've mentioned it in the PM, haven't been watching this thread. I was totally going to come see you Tuesday evening until my truck made some noises which delayed my departure. Ended up getting to to T2S at 11:30pm. Proceeded to get stuck right away after Rusty led me through a mud hole...

I was doing shopping Wednesday afternoon in Flag...

Anyone ever thought about bringing theirs along to let the FGT group reach the outside world?

EDIT: I get it, part of the appeal of that gathering is getting away from everything.... just thinking out loud.

Ok, Ok, I’ll take a little of the fucker blame. To be fair, Tuesday night we crawled out of the canyon at around 6pm after hiking 20 miles down the S. Kaibab to the Phantom Ranch and back. We grabbed a steak dinner and passed the fuck out at the hotel. Legs were beat.

Installed these PowerBass OE-700 speakers and some sound proofing. Speakers were definitely a big upgrade for me since one was blown, and for $60 can’t really complain. For the sound proofing I didn’t really do a solid before/after test but I think it has helped a bit. I’m not sure if ScamazonBasics is as good as the more expensive options but I’m satisfied with it lol.

For the mounting I struggled a bit on figuring out how to get them on there properly. Crutchfield couldn’t offer too much guidance but the guy I spoke to gave some sage advice of not over thinking it and just getting them on there however I can. I ended up drilling 4 holes through the first ‘wall’ of the plastic mount, and then just feeding a zip tie through that and the speaker mount holes. Held in place really well and is pretty much flush with the slot. I’m sure there’s a bracket you can fabricate/buy but honestly this works really well. Pretty happy overall :)

Also got around to replacing the rubber inserts in the cup holders since they were very old and crusty.

They work pretty well for the price. I have a cheap Bluetooth speaker adapter that has a ‘bass’ mode that really boosts everything. It is definitely a lot more punch than stock. If you’re keeping the stock HU I think these are a solid option.

If you're not planning to upgrade your head unit at all, I'll have an extra GTA handsfree car kit if you'd want to buy it. Seems like you already have something.

This one just plugs into the back of the head unit. The harness with "toy2" on it.

Thanks for the offer, I considered this before but just opted for a Bluetooth radio transmitter. The one with a 'bass boost' I mentioned is "Nulaxy Bluetooth 5.0 FM Transmitter". Works solid except for 1 time where this random drive through town actually used channel 88.5 for a local radio show

    Ha sounds good, man.

If you end up changing your mind then hit me up. I'm still using it now until Shifty and I knock out this upgrade. After that it'll just be in my garage until someone needs it. Dirt cheap too.

Not all tires fit the same some run big some run small. I feel like wheel specs are more of a deal breaker on these trucks than tire size. Are you trying to clear on the street or making sure you have clean articulation for offroad?

I'm running a 305/70/17 Toyo AT3 and I feel like they run big especially compared to something like a K02. My wheels are also extremely aggressive on width and offset. If you run aggressive wheels and big tires you're probably not going to have a fun time clearing them. If you want the height @The Black Mamba size is pretty close to a 34 if it isn't and fills the wheel wells really nice.

Blksnk's truck vs mine in the back.

I used to have 34x9.5x15 Swamper TSLs (mounted up on 7" wide wheels) on my jeep CJ7. I dunno how you'd fill a tire that large on a tundra.

NOTE: i just looked up the current price on them. I distinctly remember paying $99 a tire in the mid/late 90's for mine. They're now well over four times that price!

So I rode in the @Caliraisedled 4G taco today. It's actually impressive. It's kind of the opposite of what you expect. It doesn't take off hard down low, but when you hit the gear change it really brings the torque in and keeps pulling. The sound is definitely something to get used to. Really changes perspective on the new drivetrains.

The new Tundra sounds the same. I hear that torque is limited to 60% in 1st gear.

While installing the DIR harness in the 02 AC, I was relocating the black body clip piece (yellow arrow) from the OEM harness to the DIR harness. The head on that clip has an arrow-shaped tip that plugs into a hole in the body. Mine was so old that part of it cracked off. I checked the EPC online catalog, but did not see that piece sold separate. Does anyone know if you can get just the black body clip? If you can, I'd sure like the part number. Thanks!
