Vibration non existent until about 70 mph is hardly noticeable while giving it gas but much more noticeable once letting off of the gas. Please help this is very annoying lol. Thanks!

Posting here too because they share so many of the same parts. Thanks!

Do you feel the vibrations in the pedal or steering wheel? Any sound with it, where does it sound like it is coming from?

Not really in the pedal kinda sounds like a aftermarket exhaust in a way. Hard to explain lol feel it up front for sure

I'd start with the easy stuff and get the tires road force balanced.

    Maybe a driveshaft balance issue?

Carrier bearing is a definite possibility. How many miles?

We've got 148k on our 2015 with no vibrations. Still, have a look at your carrier bearing. Give it a shake and see how much play there is.

Pretty sure the Sequoia doesn't have a center carrier bearing. It is a straight single shaft all the way to the back. Here's our 2014:

He said vibration in the front, so maybe check the front wheel bearings. Then I'd check the U-Joints.

    Good catch.

I'd think with bearings, you'd hear something. I know I have in the past. There's also that tranny mount to consider.

Differential has to do with your rear end and the carrier bearing we are talking about sits between 2 pc driveshafts. The 2nd gen (2WD) Sequoia doesn't have a 2 pc shaft

    So start with wheel bearings?

Another forum mentioned Toyota 9'' Reverse Clamshell Bushing to check the drivers side inner CV and see how much it goes up and down

Is your Sequoia 4WD? That issue is related to the needle bearing. If the vibration goes away in 4HI, it might be that. Normally that is more occuring at ~40mph. I had to replace mine in my Tundra.

It would also sound like a harmonic "woosh" sound from the front left side.

No CV on the front then, so wouldn't be that issue.

That is where I would start. I had a similar issue after full brake work and the rotors were damaged.

    Can you describe the vibration?

    high vs low frequency/amplitude?

Correlate to wheel speed vs engine speed vs driveline speed?

    Location on vehicle?

    associated noise?

Letting off the gas tends to shift weight to the front suspension. Worn ball joints, shocks or other suspension or steering components can cause vibration like that, but you’d probably feel that in the steering wheel

Somewhat in the steering hard to say maybe faintly but def. feel like its coming from the front. Mild on acceleration around 70-80, almost not there on cruise control at 70-80 and its worst when letting off the gas at 70-80 or higher. Almost sounds like aftermarket exhaust when you let of the gas lol almost like a rumble.

Does the noise/vibration change when you turn left or right? You may need to turn at increased speed/turn rates to check this. Have you put the vehicle on a lift/jacks and checked each wheel for play and rotation? Check the driveshaft/axles for play? If I couldn't pinpoint the noise you describe, I would be getting a professional opinion.

The noise you describe (rumbling) could be a broken pinion/ring gear; you'd hear this from the rear.

Wheel bearing will typically "hum" long before you can feel any slop; rumbling you'd probably be able to feel play in the wheel/hub or see leaking axle seals.

Any driveline bearing that rumbles would likely be a pretty obvious failure... ie leaking fluid, lot of play, probably some screeching coming soon.

Let me check that today on my way home from work and Ill let you know on the left or right. I have had my mechanic who owns Toyota Specialist garage and he looked it over and could not find anything. The sound is almost like the rumble after you let off the gas of a V8 with a flowmaster or something just not as loud or deep but similar in sound.
