    Sup guys.

I ordered a a real compressor fridge made by Dometic and meant to go in a gm 1500 center console. With a few minor mods it can work. The only problem I have is that I would need to make the hole for the fan where the passenger AC duct is. I have kids and they'll probably complain if I get rid of one side. It's already weak cooling back there as it is.

The coolers are being clearanced at $100 so I'll keep it and may create a case for it so it can go in the rear floor. Also I may wait for a cheap center console to try to modify.

Just posting it for anyone that may be insterested in doing something similar. Yes it's small but the center console usually becomes a landfill for me.

In order to fit you need to remove two feet on the cooler. Also, the inside cover on the lid needs to be removed. I created a quick bracket for the latch and it worked but if I was to make it permanent I would do something nicer.

I tested the cooler and in 5 mins the walls got icy.

Where can I get one for $100? That's a cool little fridge.

    Thats pretty slick!!
I'm guessing you could just plug it in and set it on the back seat floorboard?
I dont do enough long road trips to warrant losing my center console storage.

I wonder if this one is bigger/smaller than the ford one as that’s on sale as well for $150. Might pick one up and put it on the floor between the rear seats so the kids can grab their own snacks

That's what I will end up doing if I dont find a very cheap center console for tinkering.

I removed the GM plug to test it on my battery. It's a simple 2 wire plug so a male "cigarette" plug can be wired into it to connect it to the rear outlet.

Doesnt the Tundra come with a rear seat cig lighter plug?
Never ridden in the back seat so I'm not certain.

Awesome. Picked one up for the hell of it. If anything, I can use it on my desk for cold drinks. Thanks for passing along the deal!

The Ford one was also $100 until it sold out by Dometic. I think the $150 is a reseller.

This one is smaller. But I specifically ordered this one to try to make it work in the console. Now that I see the AC duct will be an issue I maybe should have ordered the Ford one to set it on the floor.

Yeah it does, that's why I said a male plug can be wired into the cooler so that it can connect to the rear cig female plug.
