My truck has had this rattle that sounds like it’s coming from under the back seat since I bought it. I swear it sounds like the cab mount issues I’ve heard but the dealer “couldn’t replicate it” and when I said it only happens over certain types of bumps he said if the cab mount was bad it would be like any bump, not just certain times. If you had your cab mount replaced for this, was that accurate?

Thinking of things to try as it’s really annoying:

tighten/torque bed mount bolts (after I pull off the bed line that was sprayed over it somehow)

check the torque specs on the cab mounts? Worth checking?

putting a rubber washer on both sides of the tailgate cables as they slap against the body pretty hard at almost all times

Anything else I should look at? I hate to pull off the bed liner over the bed bolts but if it wasn’t torqued right prior to spraying, that may be it?

Thanks as always for the help all!

IMG_2036.pngCan I simply pull off 52206A and swap it to the driver’s side that makes no noise? This would allow me to confirm it’s that, and at $160 bucks I may just replace it myself if I can’t convince Toyota to. On a truck with 5k miles that’s the only piece that could be bad in the whole assembly right? Nothing moves anywhere else it appears.

I had the same problem with my 24 Limited. I took it to the dealer and like you, could not replicate the noise. Before I went back I found a road near the dealership that triggered the noise and had one of their mechanics go for a ride. He heard the noise and said it wasn’t normal. They did as you suggested and swapped the cab mounts and the rattle moved from the passenger to the drivers side. They installed a new mount and no more rattle.
