Well, I appreciate everyone's suggestions. I'm getting a smartcap installed later this week and think I'll try out the bedrug. I use the bed space more like an SUV than anything so this may work best.

I have a canopy and use it like an suv, but also like a truck and the bedrug is phenomenal for both. I do dump runs with all sorts of stuff including leaking garbage bags, lumber, heavy tools, you name it, and the bedrug has been perfect. Only had to take it out and rinse it once when crab juice leaked on it. And then it works great for luggage and stuff too.

My mat came new with the truck, very quality and substantial product. Other trucks I’ve had would have plastic bed liner and lay Firestone roof mats in there to keep stuff from sliding around.
The factory Toyota one works pretty good.

when I got my truck the OEM mat wasn’t available so I went with the Bedrug.

    I hope you like it.
I use my bed like a 6' trunk as well.
The good thing is if you wanted to haul a load of dirt or gravel, the bedrug pulls out easily.
It is held in with heavy velcro.

Look into the tailgate mat as well.
I had the full connected rug and mat in my 2005, but I kind of like having the separate piece gap in my 2014.

It depends on your wants and needs..
    Good luck.

I'm fairly confident you'll be more than impressed with your choice. It's indestructible in how many ways you can use it. I never take mine out even when collecting firewood in the fall. I just run my shop vac or broom out any left over debris.

Youll love the bed rug. Install is very easy, easier if you dont have the oem bed liner. I got the full kit with the bedsides and tailgate and working in the bed is a lot more comfortable now.

Has anyone used the WeatherTech impact liner? It’s a little pricey at $299.

looking to rock the no bed cover just want some extra protection over the plastic bed I don’t have the OEM spray on option

not sure it’s worth that price honestly.
