Her birthday was a few weeks ago and we gave her our older first gen sequoia. She's a toyomafia girl at heart already.

 

If you can mute the sound bar independently of the TV I think you're good.
I tried to experiment with mine, but the TV volume is fixed, so I can't mute it to see what happens.

I do have tinnitus, it's a 7500 Hz tone 24/7 for the last 25 years.
But it isn't overwhelming, I only notice it when everything is quiet, or unless I think about it.

I've noticed it a little more since the trial period of the new HAs.
But I'm thinking/hoping it might tone down as time goes by and I get used to them, like it did for @JMB

 

I'm only over doing this post because I want to help anyone considering hearing aids.
Please forgive me.

I overresearch EVERYTHING, especially big purchases, and these hearing aids were no exception.
When I found out last month my insurance would pay a lot more every three years than they used to, I started looking into it because I was due for new ones.
I knew it was time for an upgrade from the Costco offerings I've been using for 7 years.

I've watched and read a TON of HA reviews and side-by-side comparisons over the last month.
I narrowed it down to these 3;

Edge AI - Hearing Aids | Starkey

AI Noise Cancelling Hearing Aid | Phonak Audéo Sphere™ Infinio

And my ENT audiologist suggested Oticon Intent™ | The world’s first hearing aid with user-intent sensors

The Starkeys just weren't as good in the reviews as the other 2.
The Phonak Spheres are HUGE, twice the size of the other two.

I ended up wearing the Octicon Intents for over a week and loved them.
They are simple, I've yet to change a program, I have the app but never used it (although it does eat up my iPhone battery running in the backgorund).
My wife said she noticed I didn't ask her to repeat herself over the last week, and when I did, it was just habit.
I heard what she said if I gave it a second.

I really don't need the app running all the time, I can pull it up if I need it.
I can answer phone calls with a double tap.
I don't miss the tapping for Siri I had with my old HAs.
It would chime every time I put sunglasses or reading glasses on, it was annoying.

These HAs are simple, they work, I'm going to run them a month and then see the audiologist and see if we need to make any changes.
I'm stoked on how much better these are than my Costco Kirkland 10s.
I wear these morning to night, I only wore the Costco HAs when I thought I was going to need them.

I don't know why, but it's gone now. Maybe something your audiologist can adjust?

 

That was something I realized a few years ago. The delay between someone speaking and me processing aggravated some people. My wife likes quick conversation responses. If I don't respond immediately she can get annoyed. After explaining many times, I think she's getting it.
