that might be true if the box only has one chamber for both subs but my box has 2. One sealed chamber for each sub. But that is a good thought and might affect things as you have stated.

In that case they are definitely independent. Is it forward or rear facing?

I could be wrong but isn't the JL stealthbox rear facing?

Yes, the JL box is rear facing.

The stealthbox has a pair of 10TW3's rear firing for 2014-2021. I made my list of cuts the other night besides the top and a couple smaller pieces as I need to figure out exact dimensions as I start putting it together, but I should be able to get it done by the end of this weekend. My box build is rear firing 1cf behind the rear passenger seat for a single Wavtech thinPRO 12". I've got some rewiring to do among other things so I may not be able to test it this weekend, but I've got a umik and eventually plan to test it and post the results.

@Iamsecond I also have half a sheet of 3/4" MDF from a previous project and eventually planned to build a front firing box to compare the two. In theory rear firing should have better corner loading, and a pair of subs should have more output than a single, but that's all just hypotheticals and I'm curious enough to eventually want to compare front vs rear firing. I've also got enough baltic birch leftover I could probably make the front firing box out of it which'd be a direct comparison, and then I'd keep whichever sounds better and sell the other to another member :)

Didn’t finish this weekend because I totally spaced that it was Easter weekend, but made some good progress. 48” wide, 13.5” tall ends up being about 1cf which modeled the thinPRO 12 pretty close to .707 Qtc

Hoping to have it done this week/end and to get it in the truck to do some testing/listening but I’ve also gotta do some reworking of my amp rack so everything can fit above the box behind the seats.

    Nice work, Snert!

I'm eager to hear your impressions on the sub. The specs look fantastic, but I think you're the first person on the forums I lurk (DIYMA included) to give it a go.

What did you use for fasteners? Are those the E-Z lock threaded inserts or something else?

Box looks good. My only thought is how will the sub perform firing backwards into the plastic cover that covers the back wall. I know it’s probably deadened but still. Will be interesting to see. look forward to the end result.

Yeah there aren't a ton of reviews out there but from the limited one's I'd seen/read it seems like a pretty solid sub. And yes they are EZ lock threaded inserts but they're the ones for soft wood. In retrospect I think I'd try something else or maybe the ones for hardwood as they cause some minor chips on the top ply of the birch.

The rear wall of my truck doesn't have a plastic cover unless maybe you're referring to the rear window cover? If so that thing's metal and yeah I've got it deadened inside and out as well as the back wall of the cab/inside the window opening.

I forgot we had special olympics for a family member this weekend so I didn't get a chance to make any progress this weekend yet, but I'm hoping tonight I can maybe work on it a little bit and get it lined with CLD and fibermat before putting on the last couple panels. Should be done by this week/next weekend without a doubt, needless to say progress has been slooowwwww haha
